Yes, apparently, it is." - - - - - - - CANBERRA TIMES: The Digital Transformation Agency, on Thursday, ...released the Beta version of the government's new style manual for the public to provide feedback. The debate around whether to use program or programme has been one of the most hotly contested in the public service for years. Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott's election brought with it rumours that a push towards the old-fashioned programme had come right from the top. But no more, program is here to stay. While in the grand scheme of things the debate over one word is relatively unimportant, it reaffirms the importance of language and for the government's communication to be accessible to its citizens. The previous style manual was released in 2002, a time when a mobile phone's highest function was playing snake and social media was a page of photographs in the local newspaper from events around town. As such, the newly released edition has important updates to reflect a modern society and public service. As each day progresses, more is becoming known about the prevalence of Coronavirus across the globe and here in Australia. Whilst a great deal of uncertainty still surrounds COVID-19, what is certain is that we need to ensure we are taking care of our people, our, clients, suppliers, friends, family and those on the front line. Over the past few weeks, we’ve had clients ask about the measures 2B is employing to safeguard our people and continue to deliver premium levels of creative services and business continuity. We are continually monitoring the information provided and recommended via the Australian Government Department of Health. Our ongoing actions will be based on the most up-to-date information. So far, we have implemented the following as part of our Response Policy: - - - - - - - Ensuring adequate infection control and social distancing practices in the workplace employee education, flexible working arrangements, and sanitation practices to limit infection transmission. Replacing face-to-face meetings with other communication methods including phone calls, and FaceTime or Zoom meetings. Enforcing a 14-day self-quarantine if any employee comes in direct contact with individuals that have positively contracted the virus. Preparing for office lockdown, including planning for work-from-home and ensuring necessary materials will be accessible. Placing on hold all unnecessary employee travel. As the situation evolves, we will adjust our recommended plans accordingly to continue to protect our employees, clients and ensure continuity of our service offering. No 2B employees or direct family members have returned from any overseas travel in the past 4 weeks. 2B will continue to place the care and safety of our employees, clients and suppliers at the forefront. No, Linda doesn’t need a guide dog, but she and her family embarked on training Desiree, a guide dog for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT. They did such a good job that Desiree has gone back to Sydney for more intense training and is on her way to being able to help a vision-impaired person. Well done to Linda and the Rosin family for volu...nteering their time, love, compassion and support to helping Desiree to become able to help someone else.
