25.01.2022 A reminder to fishers that waters are closed for line fishing from 1 August to 31 October at the following locations: Coomera River and tributaries upstream f...rom the junction of Guanaba Creek and Coomera River (includes Guanaba Ck) Albert River and tributaries upstream from the junction of Canungra Creek and Albert River (includes Canungra Creek) Running Creek and tributaries (top of the Logan River Catchment) Christmas Creek and tributaries (top of the Logan River Catchment) Stanley River and tributaries upstream of the Somerset Dam Full Supply Level (above Neurum Creek and Stanley River junction) Mary River and tributaries upstream from the junction of Six Mile Creek and Mary River, including Six Mile Creek and excluding Baroon Pocket Dam, Borumba Dam and Lake MacDonald (from dam walls to full supply level for each) This closure will help protect and recover Mary River Cod.

18.01.2022 We had 2 families take advantage of the great weather early Saturday morning and participated in a private introductory lesson. After a quick safety briefing, the hunt for yabbies began. the kids all caught some but soon worked out their parents could do the hard work pumping, while they picked the yabbies up. The bait netting was slow as was the fishing with only 4 fish being caught - 3 whiting and a break. All were undersized and released. Henry with a whiting.

Sam gave me these beautiful flowers which brought a tear to my eye. I didn’t think I would get attached to the kids but obviously I have.... 13.01.2022 Wow!!!! So stoked! 2 Bent Rods has been named the winner in the Fearless Educator category at the 2020 Roar Awards.

13.01.2022 Had a great turnout at Queens beach, with most attendees coming from previous classes with us! The weed was very thick along the beach front, which made the drag netting very difficult. The fishing was very slow too, with only one crab being caught and a few peckers.

12.01.2022 Unfortunately we didnt come away with a trophy at the AusMumpreneur Awards. What I did come away with was meeting and connecting with so many fantastic business women and their amazing businesses. I have learnt new things throughout the festival and made some heartfelt connections with the other ladies, a lot of whom will be become friends.... Even though we couldnt have the in person event, I still was grateful to be able to dress up celebrate with some awesome ladies down the coast. Congratulations to all the winners, judges and everyone involved. Peace and Katy from Ausmumpreneur have successfully adapted to online and quite seamlessly pulled off a massive 4 day event.

10.01.2022 Very proud to be invited to the graduation of the Booyah project - Logan 2020 cohort. I was blown away by Jacobs speech, it brought a tear to me eye. The boys scrubbed up pretty good and all looked great in their suits.... The ceremony was attended by Mark Ryan MP who announced the project has received funding to help with this awesome initiative. We also heard from Ian Frame - Project Booyah state coordinator and retiring Inspector Stephen Pyne and group leader Senior Constable Sharon McRae.
