23.01.2022 We had a very busy morning for Junior Sport. Talking all things Netball and Tennis, we were joined by Pearl Grimmett, Isabelle Kovac and Zoe Lewis . The girls will be competing at the Netball NSW Stage Age Championships which will be held in Liverpool at the end of next week. They will play against Sydney teams in their respective age groups. Bathurst Netball Association Jacob Bicanic (Yr 10), Jake Sheader (Yr11), and Ben Tullier (Yr 12) from Denison College - Bathurst High Campus competed in the Tennis Western CHS Semis and Finals in Parkes two weeks ago. The boys came out as champions, winning against Orange and Dubbo. On the 9th and 10th of August they will head to Nelsons Bay to compete against all the NSW teams. Congratulations to all athletes and we wish you all the best in the next few weeks!

20.01.2022 Lucinda Chirgwin from Cathedral Catholic Primary School, Bathurst joined The Junior Sport Report this morning. Lucinda and Ethan Goldfish (not pictured) will be Ball Boy and Ball Girl at the upcoming Panthers vs Raider Game on June 10th. They won a competition that was held on Monday for all primary school students. Congratulations and we hope you have fun at the game! Bo Abra pictured alongside Dom McCrossin from St Stanislaus College also came in the this morning. Bo is the captain of the 1st grade Football team that went to ISA. Congratulation to Bo and the team. Good luck for future games!
19.01.2022 Welcome the new young team for Junior Sport. From left to right: Gordon Thompson (All Saints College, Year 10), Megan Walton (Mackillop College, Year 10), Jack Lynch (St Stanislaus College, Year 9) and Gabby Boshier ( The Scots School, Year 10). They will join Mayor Hanger every week from 7:30am.

18.01.2022 Amy Belfanti and Olivia Johnston, WRAS netballers (pictured on the right) had a very successful and exciting school holidays. They competed at The Australian Invitational Youth Games and were named MVP in their respective Divisions. Amy in Divison 2 and Olivia in Division 1. Congratulations girls! Megan Walton (pictured on the left alongside Mayor Hanger) also came in for a weekly Mackillop update. 18.01.2022 Junior Sport is back for another great year and term. Denison College of Secondary Education, Kelso High Campus Year 11 student Abbey May Brown joined Graeme and the team this morning. Abbey is a multi class swimmer and is training very hard in the lead up to the Cerebral Palsy World Games in Spain in August of this year. She has a busy program in the lead up, competing at the Mountains and Plains Summer Championships in Grenfell next weekend and Western School Carnival in Dubbo later this term. Congratulations Abbey and all the best for this year! Bathurst Swim Club Tune in to Junior Sport next week from 7:30am.

13.01.2022 Jakiya Whifeld received two Bathurst Junior Sport Awards to represent New South Wales at the Rugby 7’s Nationals in Brisbane and to represent Australia at the World Schools Rugby 7’s in Auckland. 1,417 awards totaling $385,400 have been proudly presented by Bathurst Regional Council, Bathurst R.S.L. Club, Devro Pty Limited, Reliance Bank, 2BS and B-Rock.

08.01.2022 Lachlan Howard from Kelso High Campus - Denison College joined Junior Sport this morning. Lachlan recently competed at NSW CHS boys Hockey Championships in Murwillubah. He had a great result, coming home with a win from the Western Area team. It is the first time in 20 years where Western has won. Congratulations Lachlan and we wish you all the best for the rest of the Hockey season.
06.01.2022 Graeme Hanger is doing a live Broadcast down at Parkrun this morning. Parkrun is celebrating there first birthday. Head on down to the Macquarie River to say Hello!
05.01.2022 Harry Thorne, Chontelle Burgess and Ruby Thorne joined the Junior Sport Report this morning to talk about their recent success in School Swimming. 05.01.2022 Megan Walton from MacKillop College - Bathurst joined us in the studio on Saturday morning with Eliza Bennett who informed us of the great success of the WRAS cycling team at the recent State Cycling Championships.

Bridget Ellis from All Saints also joined Mayor Hanger and the team to have a chat about her recent efforts in Cricket. 01.01.2022 Ryan Peacock from Denison College - Bathurst High Campus joined Graeme and the team for Junior Sport this morning. Ryan has been selected on the NSW CHS Cricket team which will be touring England from the 30th June for two weeks.
