23.01.2022 NEIL LANGFORD HAS LEFT THE BUILDING Richard Spence has taken over in the hot seat on 2LF with his new show 'The Breakfast Crunch', proudly bought to you by the HGH Motor Group Young. Our new 2LF Breakfast Announcer, Rich Spence is a dedicated South Sydney Rabbitohs supporter and club member who you may have seen on TV at games in 2019 holding banners like Souths + Wayne Bennett = 180 years. He often finds relevance to everyday life with references from The Simpsons and S...einfeld. Rich loves days long road trips and is so comfortable in his underwear that he became a model and presenter for the brand on social media and television at the age of 46! Catch Richard weekday mornings from 6am - 9am on 1350 2LF covering all things local and the ludicrous.

21.01.2022 FAREWELL NEIL - NEIL LANGFORD HAS LEFT THE BUILDING - It's a very sad day here at 2LF as we say goodbye to our very own Neil Langford. After 12.5 years behind the mic, its time for Neil to enjoy the finer things in life. ... This morning was one to remember with Neil's family coming in to surprise him during his last moments on air . Thank you to everyone who has phoned, texted, emailed, commented on Facebook, sent letters & popped in. It goes to show just how loved Neil is in our community and how missed he is going to be. Thank you to Ryan Terry for popping in this morning and buying Neil a coffee . A massive thank you to Whoopi, for bringing Neil the newspaper, every weekday morning before 6am ,rain hail or shine. Neil surprised Whoopi with a well earned plaque to show his appreciation for what Whoopi has done over the the last 12 years. And lastly, thank you to everyone who has tuned in to listen to Neil over the years. Because of you all, it has made getting up at 4:30 am a little easier. Congratulations on a wonderful career Neil. Good luck to you, Tricia and the family in this next chapter of life. You will be greatly missed by all of us. - The Team at 2LF

19.01.2022 On Anzac Day at 6am, 2LF Network will be broadcasting a "Light up the Dawn Service" which includes the Ode read by John Laws, The Last Post and One Minute Silence. We want to spread the word and get everyone telling their family, friends and neighbours... Let’s celebrate this ANZAC Day together at the top of our driveways or by our letter box together connected by the radio.

19.01.2022 Is cash heading for extinction in Australia? In recent months as the COVID-19 pandemic wears on I have noticed more and more businesses expressing a preference for cashless transactions. Some who provide over the counter transactions have gone a step further by refusing cash all together, but do they have any legal right to refuse cash as a payment method?... Government minted Australian coins and bank notes which are legal tender across all of Australia, all of our states and territories Do the (perceived) benefits of a totally cashless society exceed and justify any foreseeable negative concerns of a cashless western democracy? I will talk in further detail with my thoughts on this topic during the Breakfast Crunch on Tuesday morning after 7am. (Photos courtesy of Richard Spence)

18.01.2022 There comes a time in your life when all these things become clear, sadly for many people to late appreciate.

12.01.2022 The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSWRFS) is reminding those in the Cootamundra-Gundagai and Hilltops Local Government Area’s of the risks associated with using vehic...les and machinery around crop, pasture and stubble paddocks. We are likely to see hot, dry and windy conditions over the coming Saturday & Sunday Superintendent Andrew Dillon said. It only takes one spark to set off a serious fire that can quickly spread to adjoining paddocks and properties, potentially destroying valuable crops and farming land. If the weather acts as predicted, the NSW Rural Fire Service may issue a harvest alert. This would ask all those who are involved in harvest and other works to stop and check their local conditions before commencing. The NSW Rural Fire Service Grain Harvesting Guide recommends that harvest operations cease when the Fire Danger Index (FDI) reaches or exceeds 35. Harvest may recommence once the FDI falls below in the local area. This can also be applied to non-harvest activities such as slashing and other earth works in paddocks. The grain-harvesting guide can be found at https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au//farm-fi/grain-harvesting-guide If fires start on these days they will be extremely difficult to control, Superintendent Dillon said. Vehicles and machines should be checked at regular intervals throughout the day and a water source or fire extinguisher must be carried to suppress any fire outbreaks. It is also important that those involved in harvest operations regularly take the time to clear grass and vegetation from machines and vehicles to reduce the chance of these fuels getting caught in the drive train or around the guards and mufflers. All machinery and vehicles must have an effective spark arrester fitted to the exhaust system to prevent fires. We recommend the drive train should be cleaned every two-to-three hours on days of increased fire danger. Superintendent Dillon said fire safety should be at the forefront of everyone’s mind at this time of year. NSW RFS officers are available to provide advice on how to best protect a property during the fire season, Superintendent Dillon said. 12.01.2022 BLAST FROM THE PAST Summer in the 60’s The 2LF Miss Sunshine Quest visited all the local swimming pools in the listening area, with the station providing a live outside broadcast, competitions, entertainment and choosing a local Miss Sunshine winner to represent their town at the Grand Final that was held at the Barmedman Mineral Pool. L - R Mick Farrell, John Sheedy, Mick Cunningham, Neil Langford and Mickey Moczar. 11.01.2022 Hello 2LF listeners. Today is R U OK? day and now more than ever so many additional members of our community, our friends, our colleagues, our loved ones are or have been struggling with mental health and other concerns arising from the devastating social and economic impacts of the pandemic crisis. It is important to remember that no one has to work through difficult times alone, it is okay to ask for help if you are not coping, and we can all be the one person, or one of m...any, who are there to talk to, reach out to... even if we are unable to provide the solutions needed. R U OK? Day is a reminder that we all need to look out for one and other, ask Äre you okay?" and be a listener. This year www.ruok.org.au has a wealth of resources including a guide on how to continue the conversation after asking R U OK? Look after one and other and please ask for help if you are experiencing mental health concerns. Rich Spence from 2LF Breakfast Crunch See more

06.01.2022 You may have heard about the house fire in Edward Street, in the early hours of this morning. Thankfully, the family got out but they lost everything else, including their beloved pets. If you’re in a position to help. It would mean the world to them

06.01.2022 DON'T GET DISTRACTED BEHIND THE WHEEL THIS LONG WEEKEND________ It sure feels like it's been a very long, loooong time since we last had a public holiday, but finally here is the October Long Weekend. The weather is warming up... the clocks go forward one hour at 2am on Sunday... and family and friends hit the road to go on holidays or visit each other in different towns. Take care while on the roads this weekend, stay alert, don't engage in road rage, take regular breaks, a...void distractions and keep any sibling and spousal fighting to a minimum. Double demerit points are now in force right throughout the long weekend. We all want to get to our destinations and back home again safely so please stay safe and look after one and other and enjoy the break. The Breakfast Crunch will be back from 6am Tuesday morning the 6th of October. I look forward to talking with you then. 05.01.2022 Hi, just a reminder that 2LF will be taking Network programming from Wednesday 23rd December through to the return of the Breakfast Crunch with myself on Monday the 4th of January. 04.01.2022 They say a weeks a long time in politics, well twelve and a half years getting up at 4.30am each morning to present the Breakfast Program seems like a lifetime, so I've made the decision to mute the microphone, throw down the headphones and smell the roses. My two stints at 2LF from 1996 to 2003 and from 2008 to 2020 will come to an end on Friday 10th July, at 9am, so nearly 20 years in total. Politicians always declare on retirement that they want to spend more time with their family, so when the grandkids want Pa to spend more time entertaining them, what can I say!!

04.01.2022 Essential Energy are currently carrying out extra work at our transmitter following the power outage this morning, so we will experience some disruptions. Sorry for the inconvenience. We’ll be back to normal shortly.

04.01.2022 Happy Friday! We will be off air tonight around 7pm for roughly an hour due to maintenance work. We apologise for the inconvience. Have a great weekend!

Be listening around 7.40am Thursday 11th June 2020

02.01.2022 Just for fun... Name the: Actor pictured... TV show...... Episode sub title... Year it went to air (in US)... Character name first and last (hint: it was a guest role)... Don't be too hard on yourself, much of the above may not be widely known by a lot of us but once revealed you may be saying "oh yeah, that sounds about right" or something like that... I will share the answers with you after 8am during the Breakfast Crunch on Wednesday morning. Richard Spence (photo courtesy of Richard Spence, yes I took a photo of my television screen)
