17.01.2022 SCOUT LEADERS ARE SUPER HEROES Reliable University study on Scouting found a direct correlation between the amount of time spent in Scouting and the positive ...impact realized in the development of positive character attributes in each and every young person who was in Scouting as opposed to those not in Scoutingthose who spent more years in the program reported higher character attributes. Scouts who were more engaged also reported higher character attributes. And those who attended regular meetings reported higher character attributes compared to those with lower attendance. Volunteer leaders are changing the world by making the future world we live in a better place. Thank you to all our volunteer leaders for all you are doing when you plan a great program and deliver it using the Scouting method. It is now confirmed that you are making a HUGE difference. You are creating the LEADERS of tomorrow and making Victoria and the World a better place to live. With Scouting’s focus on providing prosocial experiences, young people are able to build a foundation of positive character attributes that allow them to embrace opportunity, overcome obstacles, and be better prepared for life. You can learn more about the study at http://www.tuftscampstudy.com/. Scout Leaders are super heroes! Now there is proof

The health and safety of all our Scouting members is always our top priority. We trust our adul...t leaders to make considered decisions about the Scouting activities they are running, and we've provided some helpful guidelines to keep everyone safe: https://buff.ly/2U3bgxM 2nd Wauchope Scouts are also keeping an eye on what the local schools are doing and putting into practice what we are needing to do to keep everyone safe. 03.01.2022 Please Share this for Those who have children in childcare CHILD CARE / ELC INFO - Important message for those who have children enrolled in an early learning or child care centre. DON’T UN-ENROL them to save money. There’s actually financial support you can receive...... There is so much uncertainty in the world at the moment and so many people are losing their jobs, please don’t add your child's educators to that list. Talk to your centre/educator first. There are a number of things in place from the government to help families and to stop child care services from going bankrupt but these measures are only helpful if the children STAY ENROLLED. Firstly, if you or your partner has lost their job or had your wages cut, you can go on to your MyGov page and apply for temporary financial hardship. This means that the government may pay your childcare fees in FULL for 13 weeks. The government has also committed to paying the CCS portion of the fees in the event that the services do go in to lock down. What this means for services is that we can keep paying our educators, our rent, etc etc etc. It means that at the end of all of this, there will be services (FDC services and centres) to send your children to. Speak to your Centre Director and Family Day Care Educator. Find out your options, BEFORE just pulling your children out.
