24.01.2022 2PM were privileged to be part of A Fairer World Hobart Human Library this week, via Zoom. The human library are a bunch of wonderful Tasmanian's who have experienced prejudice, stereotyping or discrimination just for being themselves. They tell their story to help educate, and remove the stigma associated with their uniqueness so we can learn to see them for who they really are. It teaches us to not judge a book by its cover. Because the team at 2PM are also pretty wonderful, we have teamed up with Tasmanian Iconic Walks to raise much needed funds for the Stroke Foundation and will subsequently be walking from the Tasman Arch all the way to Fortescue Bay, (no biggie, we go for coffee runs all the time!), on Saturday the 7th of November. The money we raise will assist in the prevention, treatment and hopefully eradica...tion of stroke, something that currently affects more than 475,000 Australians. The good news is that more than 80% of strokes can be prevented, which is why raising funds to increase the education and awareness around its prevention is so important to us! MaryAnn regularly has to replace her books when they get borrowed out, but at least it makes for an ever-changing work environment! From a 32 piece cutlery set box surrounded by a lego train, to boxes of toilet paper and a cheese board platter, our team has gotten very creative making their workspaces at home work for them.
