17.01.2022 Greetings! It will be another week until the 2 Regular Teachers podcast is back on air. The term 'regular teacher' is even more appropriate this week as we scatter our schedules around unforeseen interruptions! To those folk that have recently liked our page and followed us, we do actually publish episodes! You can find us in iTunes or Pocket Cast and download past episodes. This week, we move in a different direction and look at the issue of children's lunches. Monica Dux ...wrote an entertaining piece in last Saturday's Age about the trials of the kid lunchbox. Do you have issues with kids and their packed lunch? Is the current generation full of fussy eaters? Is their too much choice? Are families too busy to put together a nutritious lunch in the morning? 17.01.2022 The 2 Regular Teachers Xmas Episode has landed! We're still not sure how we achieved this feat during a final week of teaching within the silly season...but we did it! Join us as we look at how primary and secondary schools finish the school year, look for our old friend John Pearce on the high seas, enter the staff room for one final time in 2017, speak with two special primary teacher retirees as they navigate their final week of teaching and Adam revisits the verbal wrath of a 12 year old student. We have emerged from our long hibernation still intact, in touch and (hopefully) informed about the job we call a career. We hope to look at some of the big issues making news of late, chat about the school-based issues making teachers celebrate or fret during another busy term and (perhaps) see the return of the anecdote segment. 12.01.2022 Hello to all our listeners, This week, the two of us have been down many paths to work out a way we could publish an episode of ‘2 Regular Teachers’ for the end of the Victorian school term. Unfortunately, it has just not eventuated. In one vision, the two of us would sit at the desk, 1.5 metres apart, with the microphone in the middle. In another moment, we were recording remotely. With our own work in school and adjustments at home, it has not come to fruition. This is not... the end! We will be back at the beginning of Term 2 with an episode that traverses this extremely challenging and, somewhat, exciting time in education. If you are a new listener, we have over eighty episodes in our back catalogue that you can peruse. Links to the platforms you can find us on are through the link below. Many of our previous topics are still relevant today. It is not lost on us how lucky we are as teachers during this point in time. We have our jobs. We are needed and required. 03.01.2022 Hi everyone, It’s an interesting time for the ‘2 Regular Teachers’ podcast. One thing we’ve always prided ourselves on from the first episode was that the podcast and what we discussed, always reflected the life of a regular teacher and the myriad of roles we play. With that in mind, we have decided to put the podcast on indefinite leave for the time being. We don’t see this as the end but just a moment in time that will pass. At this stage, we see ourselves possibly returnin...g in late July and/or August. No sinister motive, no ‘breakdown’. Never fear! It just feels like the right time to pause in our discussions about education for the moment. Please stay with us and we’ll post messages when the time is right to provide updates on our possible return.
