25.01.2022 Who's going out this weekend?

24.01.2022 HALLELUJAH! Thank you to everyone for your patience! If you have been putting off treatment for foot, leg or knee pain, we can now treat you from the 28th of September! (With all the required PPE, of course ) See you soon xx Jasmine

23.01.2022 Both Chilbains and COVID-19 related foot lesions (Covid toes) look familiar! Us Podiatrists have now having to screen patients with COVID-19 symptoms - runny nose, coughing, shortness of breath, loss of sense of smell/taste etc... just to rule out whether or not these funny lesions were truly chilblains or not something more sinister. If you have red and itchy feet, feel free to ask us questions at [email protected] or call us on 0499 999 828!... #fridayfunnies

23.01.2022 What are some things you love about spring?

22.01.2022 No need to move in anymore because we'll be back for face-to-face appointments from Monday! #humpdaywednesday

22.01.2022 Always looking at positives What else have you enjoyed about wearing a mask during these times?

20.01.2022 Good luck to all the parents and children to what hopefully be a more normal year when you return to school this week!

20.01.2022 Going back to work after 8 weeks off like... Yes we are back on Monday! But there are still a few limitations of what you can and can't come in for. Read the blog on our website for more details!

19.01.2022 A daily reminder to you:

18.01.2022 When we say rest, you rest!!

18.01.2022 With a warm day like yesterday the sandals and open toe shoes are coming out! We're seeing some proactive people get their feet sorted to protect themselves from our dry summer weather We highly recommend a combination of urea foot balm and regular podiatry appointments to keep your feet under control and in tip-top shape!

18.01.2022 Excited to say that we are back in the clinic today! We are now able to accept patients who are non-emergency, however this doesn’t allow us to see everything. We are able to see you if you are experiencing: An increase in pain A deterioration in functional independence... A need for assessment and treatment but have been delayed through Stage 4 restrictions Pre and post operative surgical care Routine management of skin and nails (in line with preventing further problems) We kindly ask that you: Fill out our COVID screening form sent to your email prior to your appointment Wait in the car for our SMS to say that we are ready for you To wear a face MASK (in accordance with new guidelines, we cannot accept people only wearing face shields unless exempt for medical reasons) Use the hand sanitiser provided upon entering Thank you so much and we are excited to see you soon!

17.01.2022 LEAVE THE TOOLS IN THE GARAGE We know that hard skin seems to build up on our feet especially as we're moving into warmer weather but try resist the DIY treatments!! We have had patients come in after trying to do it themselves and have seen some gruesome infections, wounds and other nasty stuff! Leave it to us and our sterilised instruments

16.01.2022 "I promise the sneezing is just hayfever!!"

15.01.2022 For those who desperately needed shoes, we are so happy to see that shoe stores are BACK and ready to freshen up those feet and ready for a active summer. We highly recommend for you to check out some of our favourite shoe stores who help fit our patients to their needs: @therunningcompany_lilydale @active_feet... @theathletesfootaustralia (Eastland) See more

15.01.2022 Idea for a fun, family based physical activity: What a better way to change your setting then by building a fort! Last week Taylor built her own fort out of mattresses and blankets. It really helped her change her surroundings and freshened up the place. She loved it so much she decided to keep it up all week! For a little inspiration check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEy9G0x1IKU

14.01.2022 Today is an exciting day. This is the first day that I get to work purely on my own business myself. No more part-time jobs and casual shifts to pull me through the financially tough times. So scary (especially since we're still going through covid!) But I'm so, so excited for what the future holds. I am finally here because of my patients. The ones who trust in me and follow my treatment plans to a T, the ones who have referred friends and family, the ones who have spoke... highly of me to their doctors and the ones who have written glowing reviews on Google & Facebook. Thank you, thank you. I am also so grateful to Empower Healthcare for having me these last 3 years despite knowing I was chasing my dream of owning my own practice. Matt & Adam, thanks for looking after me and taking me on, and Scott, you are a phenomenal manager. I look to you as an amazing role model in hopes I can be like you to my future team. (And thanks for the flowers ) This is the start of the next chapter at 2 Right Feet Podiatry. I can't wait to bring more Podiatry love to the community and continue serving my patients Thanks for making this happen.

13.01.2022 Thanks Nisha and team from @physio.elements for spoiling me with cake for my birthday today! Another year older, (hopefully) another year wiser (Still don't know how to pose, though)

12.01.2022 Who has kids that are looking forward to school in Monday?

07.01.2022 COVID-19 side hustle: we are now selling toenail clippings to make bespoke jewelry pieces

07.01.2022 When my grandma used to live with us, she would always manage to turn my parents unruly backyard into a haven of fresh vegetables within a few short months. I could never understand how she did it. It was like her fingers sprinkled fertiliser over every plant she touched. She would often tell me it was with love and with patience that things would grow. Admittedly, I was never the most patient person. ... Something about this lockdown made me try getting into growing veggies, especially those being repurposed from old kitchen scraps (like the garlic and spring onion here!). It's the feeling of slowing down, being patient and present but remembering to nourish the plants everyday. What have you been getting into during this lockdown? What other skills have you been trying out? My other skill that I'm attempting is cracking eggs one handed. It's still a 50/50 chance I get some eggshell in my omelette. #sundaystorytime

07.01.2022 Seeing as its been only 3 days since the start of the week and I have had two friends already message me about itchy toes due to chillblains - we thought we would discuss about the different causes of it over the next couple of weeks! We have seen a crazy rise of chillblains this year, mainly due to everyone being at home. Have you ever experienced chillblains? Or are you finding that your feet are being more persistently cold this year? Let us know below! @ 2 Right Feet Podiatry

07.01.2022 Hi everyone! Due to the snap lockdown, I will be contacting everyone individually who are booked in for a face-to-face appointment on Saturday to Wednesday regarding changing your appointment. We have extended the hours on the rest of our week (Thursday to Saturday) to accommodate and try to stick to treatment plans as close as possible. If we need to open up Sunday slots, we will.... Thanks in advance for your understanding.

06.01.2022 Chilblains have been crazy prevalent this year - with friends and patients alike presenting with red, cold and itchy toes despite never had them before. Even I experienced Chilblains for the first time this year. I noticed it particularly when the tip of my left 3rd toe was sore and almost had this red looking bruise at the end. To the point it felt numb! Thankful to say that a month later, it's completely healed and I have no issues with it at all! ... Have you ever had red marks like this on your toes before?

05.01.2022 As Podiatrists we occasionally see patients with acute fractures in the clinic. We most likely see stress fractures, which are small hairline cracks that occurs due to excessive pressure places on the bone over a period of time. Usually, larger fractures will end up being sent to hospital and we will help out with rehabilitation down the track!... Have you ever had a fracture before? If so, what kind did you have?

04.01.2022 For today's #mondaymotivation, we wanted to discuss something a little deeper today. In the clinic, I always chat about how mental stress can affect and hold in our bodies. For example, my eczema has flared up in the last few weeks due to stress (and not due to my normal stimulants like dust, humidity etc). I was slopping on so much cream and although it definitely helped relieve it momentarily, the itchiness didn't stop. It has definitely been difficult not to fall int...o a negative mindset, especially given yesterday's news. Yes, there are a lot of challenges that have been thrown our way, and yes, its enormity is heightened due to the inability for us to take hold and change the situation. It's a sense of helplessness. Helplessness we can't control. But what can we control? We can definitely control how we perceive life, despite its current caveats. The sun has come out and it is so warm! Spring is here and the ducklingsare around now. We have been able to spend so much time with our children and pets. There is still so much to be grateful for and if you can focus on those, we will get through this a lot easier and faster. Enjoy the sunshine and stay safe everyone

04.01.2022 Hi everyone and happy father's Day! Ahead of the lockdown extension the APodA has announced that they will be seeking further clarification for us regarding whether face to face restrictions will be eased, especially for those whom we have had to already postpone their appointments. We will be monitoring this and letting everyone know as soon as we do. Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine today

03.01.2022 After having to move (yet again) another two weeks of patients... It was nice to see this lovely lady for an urgent appointment, but with flowers in hand!! Truly brightens my day, thank you Also thank you to all my patients who have been so incredibly understanding. I am so humbled by the amount of you who have checked in on me as well. I am so grateful for this community

02.01.2022 Hi all! Due to the announcement this morning about a 5 day circuit breaker commencing 11:59pm tonight, unfortunately we must close all face-to-face appointments until Thursday (permitting it doesn't get extended! ) I will be in contact with all my patients who I haven't spoken to yet who are booked in for Monday and Wednesday next week to reschedule your appointments. Thanks so much in advance for your understanding. ... We have opened up our timeslots on Thursday (9:00am - 8:30pm), Friday (9:00am - 6:00pm) and Saturday (7:30am - 6:00pm). If you would still like to make a telehealth appointment for tomorrow, give me a call at 0499 999 828 and we can work out a time together, otherwise for Monday and Wednesday you may do so online at www.2rightfeet.com.au/book (online bookings for telehealth will open after 2pm tomorrow). Telehealth during this time will be at a reduced cost of $65 to help anybody in need of some advice and guidance during this period. That's all from me! Stay safe, stay healthy friends and I will see you on the other side of this! Jasmine

02.01.2022 Hi! Due to the snap lockdown we may be required to change any appointments between now and Wednesday next week. Please stand by in the case that this happens, and if it does, we will be contacting everyone individually to organise a new date and time. Thanks everyone in advance for your understanding!

01.01.2022 WOW! Thanks to everyone who had commented on our recent few posts about chilblains (and thanks to all those who DM'ed us photos of their toes! Haha!) What can you do about them? This depends on the person of course and their individual situation. 1 Ensure that if you are at a computer working from home or studying, take frequent breaks and encourage movement to increase blood circulation.... 2 Keep feet warm! Make sure that your feet are kept warm using socks (bamboo, cotton or wool socks are the best!) and slippers as well if you need the extra warmth. 3 Use thermogenic creams. You can find some of these at your local chemist. 4 Wax foot baths. Oh my gosh. These are just amazing. Using paraffin wax, it naturally helps vasodiliate (open) your capillaries to allow more blood circulation to your feet! We have one in clinic if you'd like for your feet to feel snuggly and warm after stage 4 restrictions ease! If you have any further questions feel free to DM us! @ Kilsyth, Victoria, Australia
