16.01.2022 Our multicultural community of Chinese heritage gets ready for the Year of the Ox! Oxen are honest and earnest. They are low key and never look for praise or to be the center of attention. This often hides their talent, but they’ll gain recognition through their hard work. They believe that everyone should do what’s asked for them and stay within their bounds. Though they are kind, it’s difficult for them to understand persuasion using pathos. Rarely losing your temper, they think logically and make great leaders.

15.01.2022 AN IRISH CELEBRATION OF MUSIC, SPOKEN WORD AND DANCE AT CPAC THIS ST BRIGID’S DAY The Consulate General of Ireland and the Prankqueans return to Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre (CPAC) with a cast of Irish and Australian artists for a celebration of women through music and the spoken word. This FREE cultural event takes place on Sunday 7 February to mark St Brigid’s Day, when the creativity of women is celebrated in Ireland and abroad.... The program features Booker prize winning author Anna Burns’s novel ‘Milkman’, award winning Irish Australian poet Anne Casey who will read a selection of her poetry, and Writer Gabrielle Carey and harpist Clíona Molins will join with fellow artists to offer words and music of a distinctly female flavour. A mythological pre-Christian Irish Goddess associated with Springtime, Brigid shares many attributes with Ireland’s matriarchal Christian saint of the same name, particularly that of healing. Following a year of devastating bushfires and a global pandemic, CPAC’s St Brigid’s Day celebrations will invoke the spirit of Brigid the Healer through music, song and literature as audiences celebrate the Irish and Australian capacity for overcoming adversity. Consul General of Ireland Owen Feeney said St. Brigid was traditionally a religious figure we learnt about in school, today her feast day is a global celebration of Irish women and female creativity. The Consulate General of Ireland is proud to support the Brigid 2021 performance at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. Event Details: What: St Brigid’s Day Celebrations at CPAC When: Sunday 7 February, 2021, 2:30pm Where: Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, 1 Powerhouse Road, Casula NSW 2170 Price: FREE Visit : casulapowerhouse.com.au
