21.01.2022 Good morning - hope you are having a wonderful Saturday. Introducting my latest piece Greystoke I've always been a fan of Christopher Lambert the actor. If you are young you may not know him but he was in the film of the same name back in 1984 but for me I loved him in Highlander.... Oops back to these bedsides - originally dark, gloomy and outdated they are now finished in a gorgeous neutral perfect grey (Fusion Mineral Paint in Little Lamb) I have used a lighter grey wash for the stencil on the top drawers. This just adds texture and a washed appearance and gives it a unique finish. All drawers are on metal runners. The tops have been sanded back to reveal this beautiful grain, a light whitewash and limewash has been applied and three protective coats of matt clear varnish to make it durable. Grey is a perfect neutral whether for Hamptons/Coastal or Farmhouse look. 19.01.2022 Hope you are having a nice Saturday. This is ** Hunter ** I just loved the name and thought it sounded a good match to this lovely earthy green tallboy. Even though the name means one who hunts, it reminds me of a forest or a wooded grove with trees hence the beautiful colour green.... A slim tallboy which has been refreshed with eucalyptus green, 6 deep drawers and new catalogue or apothecary bronze pulls. Such a versatile piece - it would look wonderful as a feature in your bedroom, study or living room. Being slimline it would fit into any space. Handpainted with Fusion Mineral paint in the colour Bayberry with a splash of Casement (white) in a matt finish. The top and first drawer have been stained in walnut but this still enhances the grain. All surfaces have been given a couple of coats of clear varnish for protection. I'm naming her Fleur because I have used this beautiful colour French Eggshell by Fusion Mineral paint. The palest blue with a hint of grayish/green is serene yet bold at the same time. 17.01.2022 Seriously guys I love my stencils. If you have never tried it drop into Kmart and check out their range. From around $2.50 to under $5 these are a bargain. I use a stencil brush and the trick is to make sure you don't have too much paint. I always unload it onto a paper towel before starting. I also wrap an elastic band around the bristles to keep them together. Some people use a small roller but I haven't tried this method. Painted in a neutral white with the top rail given a driftwood finish. All finishes are sealed with a varnish top coat. Two black knobs and three gorgeous black hooks add plenty of hanging space for coats, hats even your bags. A subtle stencil completes this look.
