24.01.2022 EXERCISE AND MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS Are you living with MS and wondering what exercise you should be doing? A new paper from some of the leading MS neurology specialists have provided us with the below recommendations. People with MS should complete 150 min/week of exercise and/or 150 min/week of lifestyle physical activity. Lifestyle physical activity includes incidental activity such as occupational exercise, housework and unplanned leisure. Due to heat sensitivity though, i...t is important to remain cool during exercise to avoid any flare ups. Here are some great exercises that you can complete at home to reach your exercise goals and are best completed through a guided physiotherapy program. https://journals.sagepub.com//full/10.1177/1352458520915629

23.01.2022 Do you know at 2u we also see children for Physiotherapy? We can help with developing fine and gross motor skills. We love this puddle jumping activity from @learnwithluca showing a fun way to improve leg strength and balance If you are unsure if you’re child is reaching their milestones jump over to KID SENSE The charts list the ‘typical’ child development by age and the possible implications if a child has not reached typical developmental milestones. Please note that these charts are only a guide and are in not way a definitive assessment tool. https://childdevelopment.com.au//gross-motor-developmenta/

01.01.2022 Time to MASK UP Melbourne! Help to slow the spread of covid19 by wearing your mask. Our Physio’s will be wearing their masks during our appointments as our Physio, Monique, demonstrates (and we assure you there is a smile under there! ) Here are some tips on how to properly wear your mask to ensure that you are getting maximum protection Ensure your hands are clean before you put on your mash. ... Only touch the bands or ties when putting on your mask Don’t touch the mask to avoid germs being spread to your mouth If you want to take it off, take it off by the ties and replace the mask. Do not pull it down to your chin and put it back on as this can cause cross contamination from your chin/neck Change mask regularly every 4 hours or so or make sure you wash reusable masks after each use Please dispose of single use masks properly and put them in the bin See more
