15.01.2022 Warning! A client recently told me she her veterinarian dentist discovered 2 of her horses had slab fractures in their back molars. One horse was quite old so ...not too surprising. The other was a younger horse. The vet suggested it may be caused from the fact that they are fed hay off the ground in bags. Horses have been fed hay in bags for decades now. The thing that has changed is these nibble nets/slow feeders becoming popular. I noticed when horses eat out of them they are more often than not pulling at the net, causing their teeth to bang together. My advise is to avoid these types of feeders at all costs. If you have been using one and your horse is showing signs of discomfort in the bridle or when eating, get them checked out. With loving kindness. X
