When you stop doing these tasks, you free yourself up to complete more important tasks that will grow your business. List all the tasks that you rare currently doing that you shouldn’t be.... These tasks are anything that someone else could be doing at a low hourly rate, including bookkeeping, cleaning, filing, and answering phones. Now choose one to delegate to a staff member. Invest some time in showing them how to efficiently complete the task, and document the process. Now repeat until you have delegated all the tasks that you should not be doing. Use this new found time to work ON the business, instead of working on meaningless tasks that will never move you forwards.

09.01.2022 Staffing is the most common issue most small business owners have, however most have no hiring system in place at all. Forget about putting bums on seats, you need the right people in the right roles. As a quick exercise try this:... 1) Outline the role and the job description. What will be the requirements of the employee on a day to day basis. 2) What type of personality type will suit this role? An outgoing type is more suited to a sales role. An analytical type is more suited to an administrative role. A leader is more suited to a managerial role. It is very obvious but this is often overlooked when hiring a new employee. 3) Ensure all last round applicants sit a Personality test. The DISC test is a simple and quick test to help work out where each person should fit. 4) Outline to the applicants what your culture is all about. Clean dress, turn up on time, positive attitude all the time, etc etc etc. Go into depth on this and you will find that you will scare of the applicants that don’t suit the culture (this is a good thing!). These are the basics that should be implemented when hiring a new person. Use these and you will have a greater chance of hiring the right people in your business.
