They didn't know each other but because he can relate to his situation. Whether he takes him up on the offer who knows, but to be in a place where your mindset is to help someone else is a beautiful thing. #Gratitude #mindfulness #empathy
15.01.2022 In the spirit of Shane’s last post I’m going to summarise the past year in no particular order with some highlights and some not so highlights. Here’s what’s happened with you all this year: Trained a bunch of wonderful people, kicked the soccer ball with my youngest and oldest client, surgeries (hip, knee and brain), pre-hab, rehab, taught someone in their 60’s with a knee and hip replacement to do deadlifts, solved the worlds problems, mountain climbers, circuits, missed s...essions, catch up sessions, the rope, burpees, farts, clients talking business with each other at 6am when they’re meant to be exercising, babies, people training on days when they’re feeling down or even anxious and leaving feeling better than when they came in, fitness goals, personal bests, laughter and smiles To all our clients past, present and future, thank you! 15.01.2022 In all the time I've owned our little studio, this week has been one of my all time favorites. We've seen pb's set, some amazing changes in mindset, clients laughing, clients giving a piece of themselves to help another. We've seen food get donated to those less fortunate, people sharing the joy exercise has brought them and even clients giving up their time to help me. Today was the cherry on top. One of my clients who sufferers with PTSD spent an hour just hanging out with me after their session while I trained. We just chatted until it was time to go and he said "I feel good". 03.01.2022 I was told we "need to have more of a social media presence" and to "post more of your training" so here goes. 1. Incorporated a 2k run into a 6am clients program because they were so tired and I felt the fresh morning air would help wake them up. It did. 2. Went for a walk with a client because they were emotional and needed to get it out. They did. ... 3. Let a client have a power nap before training because they were cooked then put on 1990's R&B because they love it. They trained great after that. 4. Chatted to one of my PTSD clients for an hour after our session where we laughed about the stupid shit us blokes do. We really do do stupid shit. 5. Had one client who can't train this week just pop in to say merry Christmas and another left me 2 of my favourite things, peanut butter and caramelo koalas. 6. Went waaaay overtime with a session because we got distracted talking about what's really important in life. 7. Got plenty of sweaty hugs from heavy arms and wobbly legs. 8. Squatted, deadlifted, benched, pulled shit, pushed shit and a bunch of other shit. Not as interesting as posting half nude pics but that's what we do.
