23.01.2022 Lest we forget.

21.01.2022 Last night, Westpac 4 had to attend a critical incident at Jiliby, with a patient with suspected spinal injuries. The residential property was too soft and surr...ounded by obstacles to effect a safe landing, so Westpac needed a cleared area nearby to use a staging area. Enter Warnervale Airport! Whilst the ambulances were attending to the injured patient on site, the Australian Air League Toukley Squadron, who use the CCAC land for their meetings on Friday Nights, were invited over by the highly professional crew members to have a quick briefing and instruction on the Westpac crew operations. It was a great opportunity for these young aviators. The patient was successfully retrieved and flown directly to the spinal unit an Royal North Shore hospital where we hear they are in a stable condition. Great result! Thanks Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service - Official Site

20.01.2022 It is great to see the Australian Air League using the Airport facilities after flights have finished for the day. When the Air League lost their home at Warner...vale Public School, the CCAC was only to happy to step in and offer our facilities free of charge to this great organisation. The AAL have been growing steadily, mirroring the rapid growth in the CCAC. The organisation need more space, and are looking for grants to purchase a demountable building to store equipment. We have offered the use of our land but are really at capacity. We understand they have approached council to allow for a small building to be housed in their land - let’s hope they are successful. With Council showing renewed interest in the future of the Airport- it would be fantastic to see Council support this historic youth group. From the AAL web page: The Australian Air League is a youth organisation for boys and girls aged from 8 years which encourages an interest in aviation as a career or as a hobby for the youth of Australia. The organisation is entirely self-funded and is staffed by volunteers who give their time generously to achieve its goals. The Australian Air League has no political, racial or religious connections. The aims and objectives of the Australian Air League include: To promote and encourage the development of Aviation in the Youth of Australia To promote good citizenship To promote ingenuity and resourcefulness of its members To develop the physical and mental abilities of its members
