19.01.2022 Many of you already know this, but on Friday 31 July our amzing 3205 Beach Patrol mascot Lucy the Wonderdoodle passed away. She was an amazingly committed member and ambassador of the Beach Patrol community, and she will be missed by all. Especially @Kristine and I. #LucyTheWonderdoodle #ValeLucy

17.01.2022 As most of you know, in a couple of years Victoria will *finally* have a container deposit scheme in place, which will hopefully mean a reduction in the number of cans and bottles that we find on and around our beaches. BTW last year Beach Patrol picked up more than 40,000 containers! With the Victorian government about to decide within the next two weeks on who will control the state's Container Deposit Scheme - Coke and Lion (who opposed CDS for years) are making a big pl...ay to take it over. I worry very much about putting people in charge of something that they have already tried very hard to destroy. It wasn't allows in NSW, and it shouldn't be here. 11.01.2022 The Victorian Government has just released discussions on the Container Deposit Scheme. You can access a short video, two survey links and the discussion paper via Engage Victoria, at www.engage.vic.gov.au/container-deposit-scheme Please go on line ad fill these surveys out. We don't want the big bottling companies to take over running the scheme saying they will manage it when they want to sabotage it for their profits. It has to be independently managed.
