25.01.2022 One year ago today we announced that we were creating a luxurious holiday home in Merricks in the Mornington Peninsula. Obviously we didn’t have a crystal ball to see just how pear shaped everything would go in 2020. That being said, we are incredibly proud of what we have created. Our guests have loved their time at 3488 Merricks is and we have received excellent reviews. ... We won’t be closed forever and we can’t wait to welcome you back as soon as it is safe to do so.

21.01.2022 We are very sad that we (like many others) have had to close our doors again due to the second Melbourne lockdown. We understand that this is the way things need to be right now, but are still disappointed that our July/August guests have had to cancel or postpone their well-deserved holidays. Everyone needs something to look forward to... and our luxurious and stylish property in the beautiful Mornington Peninsula is not to be missed.... We will certainly be putting out the balloons again (and popping the cork on a bottle of champagne) when we can safely re-open again - hopefully in the not too distant future.

18.01.2022 We are very excited (and extremely relieved) to announce that 3488 Merricks will be reopening its doors from this weekend! We can't wait to welcome you back to this divine part of Victoria so that you can take a well deserved rural break after the months and months of lockdown in Melbourne. Weekends are already booked up through the rest of November and December and we have Summer holiday bookings through to 16 January.... 17.01.2022 ‘Ngoho’ is the name of this table we found. Inspired by the shapes of the backyard pools in California in the 1970’s it makes for a lounge-room centrepiece. The original design was too short to stand over our GlobeWest ottoman so we had Allwood Living make a taller replica for 3488 Merricks. The shape was made more symmetrical and when we unveiled the table to our kids it was aptly named ‘the penis table’. Not quite the intention we had for Ngoho but it is funny how you end up with something unexpected!

14.01.2022 It was wonderful to have the ladies from METreat Women’s Retreats host a 1 day wellness retreat at 3488 Merricks yesterday. The house was perfect for hosting the retreat welcome, personal development education and a delicious and healthy lunch. The yoga and meditation session was held at the stunning Silver Leaf Yoga, which is only a couple of minutes drive down the road.... The ladies finished off their retreat with a relaxing walk on the Red Hill - Merrick Rail Trail and a hot drink at the Merricks General Wine Store. 3488 Merricks is the perfect venue for you to hold a small retreat or workshop. 12.01.2022 Surf’s Up? Showing off the latest addition of a surf board rack for those lured by the break at Pt Leo beach. Not the sexiest addition but the region is either beach country or wine country, take your pick!

Although Victoria’s regulations are tightening up again, you can still treat your family to a special stay in this beautiful part of the world. We have availability from 24 June to 2 July. 05.01.2022 Fitting out a property can be a mammoth project as it takes discipline, commitment & vision, traits we don’t exactly excel at. We priced over $3,000 for transporting all of the household items from Melbourne to Merricks. In an effort to keep to our budget (and save $3,000) we spent many weekends out shopping and filling our cars to the brim followed by many trips down the peninsula unloading each item and putting the house together piece by piece. As the pieces of the puzzle came together the car loads leaving Merricks were equally full of cardboard for recycling. Acknowledging you can’t do it all on your own is the first step, luckily we had Nina Zed guiding us with her discipline, commitment & vision.

04.01.2022 The Cape Shank Lighthouse is only a 25 minute’s drive from 3488 Merricks. The walk down to Pebble Beach was spectacular - even on a slightly wet and blustery day. We found crabs and starfish in the rock pools and enjoyed hearing the waves crashing on the rocks and smelling the salty sea air.

04.01.2022 The clock is ticking till Melbournians can leave the city and head down the Mornington Peninsula. With the weather heating up and the sun shining there’s no better time to schedule to treat yourself and head down to where the wine country meets the sea. Pop into the Merricks General Wine Store for a coffee then start walking the rail trail. Doesn’t really matter what you do when you’re down the peninsula, when you’re with someone special the clock won’t be ticking.

01.01.2022 Meet Lauren & Matt who had planned their wedding for April 2020. In March when things got COVID serious they brought their wedding forward and replanned everything in 5 days to beat the anticipated lockdown. They managed an intimate function at the beautiful Merrick's General Store & partied the night away hours before harsh social distancing measures were implemented across Australia. We were happy to host this memorable wedding couple and the 3488 property made a beautiful backdrop for their lovely wedding photos!
