23.01.2022 LAYLA - 10YO - FEMALE - STAFFY MIX - $250 This lady is Layla! Don’t let her age fool you, she is super spritely for a 10 year old! Layla found her self needing rescue when she was surrendered to a Melbourne pound with some nasty skin issues. Layla came into care quite nervous and wary of strangers, she wasn’t too fond of anyone touching her. We reckon this was mainly because of her itchy painful skin. As soon as she arrived to her foster home, she was off to the vet to help ...Continue reading

16.01.2022 Lucy - 6yo - female - DMH - $200 Her moods are easy to recognise. Lucy has been in foster for 12 months and has relaxed into a loving cat. She loves to lie in front of a window in the sun and will stretch out to soak up the warmth. Lucy would make a loving companion and is looking forward to a home to call her own. This lovely lady is Lucy! ... She's a 6 year old lady whose spent over 12 months in care and is finally ready to find her forever home! Lucy loves a good smooch but is known to sometimes feel a bit unsettled and become a little bit of a grump, for this reason she's best suited to a home with no children and no other cats. Once Lucy has settled in and had some bonding time with her forever humans they will be able to familiarize themselves with her moods a bit better. She has been around dogs and wasn't the biggest fan, if they leave her alone she may tolerate them. She loves to stretch out in the warmth and soak up the sun when it's out! Lucy is also a fond mouser, she would also be suitable for a barn/farm type home. Lucy is desexed, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments. You can apply to adopt via the link below https://www.geelonganimalrescue.org.au/animals/lucy-4/ M/chip# 943094320602980 Source# RE100238

13.01.2022 BRUNO 9 YO MALE GREYHOUND - $250 This sweet old man is Bruno! In true greyhound fashion his foster mum refers to him as a pet potato. He loves to sleep, snack and sleep. Bruno was born as a racing dog who then found himself in GAWS once his racing career was over; he then lived with another dog for a few years. Unfortunately as he grew older and with the loss of most of his eyesight he stopped getting along with the other resident dog and found himself at the vet a f...ew times. For this reason Bruno is best suited to an only dog home or with a resident dog that would need to be older and understanding of each other’s personal space. He may be old but still loves a walk! All though he can’t walk far he will still race to the door whenever he hears his lead ready to get outside. An easy 15-30 minute walk a day will keep him happy enough he’ll come home and sleep for the next 4 hours. As mentioned, Bruno has lost most of his eyesight, we think he can still mostly see shadows though. He does incredibly well finding his way around and very rarely bumps into things around the house. He does need routine and is best things in the house don’t get moved around as this can confuse him. He’s recently had a visit to the eye specialist who said his sight loss was caused by an old infection that is no longer active. They don’t expect his eye sight to get any worse. He does have some cataracts that will need a follow up with the eye specialist in 6 months time (March 2021). He will only go to the bathroom inside if he’s left inside for too long so he will need someone to be home more often than not. He is an inside dog but will happily have a quick bake in the sun when it’s out. Bruno loves his food and treats, he currently gets fed dry biscuits for senior dogs and his foster mum adds in some kangaroo & pumpkin loaf for him and his foster brother which he loooves! Greyhounds are also professional bin divers and Bruno is no exception to this. You will need to make sure your bin is elevated or you can expect to find wrappers as decorations all over your floors in the mornings. Bruno would be a perfect companion for someone home more often than not, a quite household with no small children. He hasn’t been tested with cats while in foster care but if they steer clear of him I’m sure they’d live in harmony. Bruno is desexed, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments. You can apply via the link below https://www.geelonganimalrescue.org.au/animals/bruno/ M/chip# 956000008721150 Source# RE100238

01.01.2022 * ENQUIRIES CLOSED * Luna ~ 12 wk DSH ~ Female ~ $200 Hi I’m Luna! ... I’m 12 weeks old, I’m a domestic short hair female. I was rescued by GAR from the Mildura pound when I was only 6 weeks old. After the big scary drive with about 10 other cats, my brother and sister went to our new foster home. We were very sick with cat flu. But after a few days of snuggles, visits to the vets, we were all bouncing around in not time! My foster family have fallen in love with me, I live with my brother and sister, 2 big boy resident cats and 2 teenagers. I’ve never had an accident and always use my litter tray. I’m a bit of a smoocher and like to rub my face on yours, or help my foster mum with her studies on zoom. I haven’t been tested with dogs yet, but being so young I’m sure I’d adapt well to any household. Luna is desexed, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments You can apply to adopt via the link below https://www.geelonganimalrescue.org.au/animals/luna/ M/Chip# 956000010932499 Source# RE100238
