23.01.2022 Racing today in R7 at Ballarat Turf Club at Sportsbet-Ballarat is Brilliant Concept, trained by Matthew Williams Racing. This gelding was purchased as a yearling by Dr Dawn Giltinan and prepped here at MCT. This gelding is sired by Star Witness Widden Stud out of New Style (Snippets). Good luck to the connections.

19.01.2022 Racing today at Cootamundra Turf Club in race 4 is Swilling. Not one of our graduates but her dam Lambrays is a resident here. Lambrays has a 2017 unnamed filly by Bullet Train that graduated MCT and is currently in race preparation with Mick Kent Racing Stables. Her 2019 Bel Esprit colt is currently here, and this season she produced a lovely filly by Foxwedge. She is returning to Foxwedge this year.

18.01.2022 Last week we stopped by Rosemont Stud with Lambrays for a walk out with Nostradamus. Lambrays is sired by Red Ransom (USA). Her full sister Cinque, is the second-dam of the Nostradamus sired Tinker McPhee. Tinker placed fourth in the group 1 New Zealand Guineas over the weekend, she’s now on her way to Sydney for some black-type runs.

16.01.2022 We introduced this magnificent Sooboog x Dazzledar (GB) colt a few months ago as he commenced his prep with Graham Loader. Leneva Park will be presenting him in the upcoming Inglis Ready2Race sale. You can view his listing here https://inglis.com.au//2020+Ready+2+Race+Sale/catalogue/212

15.01.2022 Lot 73: Headwater/Overblik https://inglis.com.au//info/2020+Ready+2+Race/catalogue/73 Headwater’s family is very familiar to us, owning the mare River Tribe. It is not only their ability, type and performance that standout in this family, but also their temperament. The Overblik colt carries all these positive traits. He was an absolute pleasure to prepare as a yearling. The same comments were reiterated by his breakers Joe Cunningham and Jordan Chalmers from Denistoun ...Park. We look forward to a positive result at the upcoming Inglis Ready 2 Race sale for both Graham Loader and Dawn Giltinan. Overblik colt a lovely mover, he is typical of the promising Headwaters currently showing good ability, looks like he will be a quality 3yr old to me. Graham Loader

14.01.2022 Today’s MCT graduates racing at Ballarat Turf Club at Sportsbet-Ballarat Race 4 Moss Job from Dawn Giltinan’s mare Interna, sired by Moshe. Race 8 Brilliant Concept. Owned by Dawn Giltinan and trainer Matthew Williams Racing... We wish both horses and their connections the best of luck today

13.01.2022 THROWBACK THURSDAY Brilliant Concept (Star Witness/New Style) wasn’t born at MCT but was purchased as a weanling by one of our top clients, Dawn Giltinan. We had the pleasure of preparing him before he was ready to commence his racing career with trainer Matthew Williams Racing He broke his maiden in July last year and has won another four races since. In May he won the Ballarat Turf Club at Sportsbet-Ballarat Hygain Winner’s Choice BM64 by 2.8 lengths and followed up with a ...win at Sandown Racecourse in the Ladbrokes.com.au Switch Handicap. He returned from a spell to race at Ballarat yesterday and finished 5th but we have a feeling he’s just warming up. Keep an eye on the page to catch his next win.

12.01.2022 Racing today at Townsville Turf Club is Future Dreams in race 8. This gelding was bred by Emirates Park, his dam Doojah now resides at MCT.

12.01.2022 Reachin’ Out and her Fiorente (IRE) filly. Fiorente stands at Sun Stud. This filly’s full brother Prince Six, sold for $100,000 as a yearling and is trained by Mark Newnham Racing at Randwick.

11.01.2022 It is not uncommon for a foal to be born with an entropion. This is a condition that results in a foal being born with an eyelid rolling inward, in this case the lower lid. If left unattended the eyelashes and hairs will rub the eye causing significant irritation and long term damage to the eye. Correcting the entropion involves rolling the eyelid outwards and suturing in place for seven days. This usually provides enough time for the eyelid to be permanently repositioned without any further complications. Thank you Dr. Jack and Mansfield Veterinary Clinic for performing this procedure.

08.01.2022 MCT graduate Air Defence just narrowly missed breaking his maiden when he was beaten by a nose! Congratulations to his trainer Shane Fliedner's Racing and stable mate Surin Beach who won his maiden in race 3.

08.01.2022 What a glorious day the girls are having with some synchronised splashing!

06.01.2022 Racing today in race 2 at Tatura & Shepparton Racing Club Inc is Raise The Summit. Trained by Brett Bunfield and owned by a client, this 5yo mare was born and prepped here at MCT. Good luck to all of the connections.

05.01.2022 Dear Barty was in shock when she sat up. Had no idea what this little creature was She adores her and is a splendid mum Maiden mare Bartoletta and her Highland Reel filly. Barty is owned by Bruce Mackie of BEM Bloodstock. She will be returning to Highland Reel at Swettenham Stud this season.

04.01.2022 Today we’re back at Sun Stud with Uproot for her walk out with Magnus. Uproot is sired by Lonhro, from NZ mare Destruct.

02.01.2022 Prior to foaling one of our mares had run milk for 4 days, unfortunately this led to a loss of colostrum. Colostrum is important as it carries the all important antibodies for the foal’s early immunity. Unlike humans, foals don’t receive any antibodies from the placenta prior to birth. In order to establish adequate immunity in this foal, it was necessary to perform a plasma transfer. Thankyou Dr. Jack of Mansfield Veterinary Clinic and our foaling manager Neil.
