07.01.2022 Some more info on the imbedded system: To give you an overview of what we have supplied for your building: - Origin has installed an Embedded Network & Serviced Hot Water System at the property.... - These styles of electricity, gas and hot water supply are based on Origin ‘bulk buying’ gas and electricity for your building, and on-selling via private metering. - The ‘bulk buy’ allows Origin to provide apartment occupiers and owners with a host of benefits primarily with reduced rates, but also including free maintenance and break down service on hot water plant and all meters, unmetered gas supply to the apartment, and smart metering to give you detailed information about your electricity usage. - The Embedded supply agreements are with the building as a whole, but accounts are held for each apartments individual consumption. - Origin do not have long term contracts. Our agreements can be terminated with 6 months’ notice by the body corporate. - As the hot water system feeds the entire building, the agreement for hot water and gas supply must always be ‘all in or all out’. That being said, Origin strives to offer the most competitive rates, and best service to all our embedded customers (currently over 120,000 apartments in 6,000 residential buildings in Australia). - As we use smart metering technology for electricity, we can remove a single apartment from the embedded electricity network and publish the private meter into the national database (i.e. provide the meter number that you were asked for by iselect). - Origin continue to offer all our Embedded customers the same protection you receive in the open market, including dispute resolution and ombudsman protection, our hardship policy as well as a dedicated customer service team (1800 684 993) and national response centre (1800 002 438) for any faults or emergencies.
