25.01.2022 We have been getting a lot of questions regarding the CURRENT restrictions on business owners and providing services to residents from Melbourne Metro and Mitchell Shire, see below as of (17/07/2020) The key document is the Restricted Area Directions Number 12. You can download the version we have highlighted for the following circumstances (https://mcusercontent.com//Restricted_Activity_Directions_)... 1. Takeaway Venues - can serve anyone, no identification required. See the Restricted Area Directions Number 12 - Section 10 Point g) see NOTE 2. Takeaway and Dine In Venues Venues cannot serve residents from the Melbourne Metro/Mitchell Shire for dine in services. But can provide takeaway. See the Restricted Area Directions Number 12 - Section 10 New poster released by DHHS to support you - Download Poster 3. Dine In Only Venues - have to refuse service to the Melbourne Metro and Mitchell Shire New poster released by DHHS to support you Download Poster 3. Retail Checking ID for RETAIL is NOT directed If you refer to the RESTRICTED ACTIVITY DIRECTIONS NUMBER 12 section 9 point 8 you DO NOT need to check ID however you have to follow the other venue guidelines around capacity etc. 4. Hairdressers / Beauty Hairdressers and Beauty refer to Section 9 point 3 and 4 they need to record, and refuse service for anyone from restricted areas If there is still some confusion for other circumstances please let us know, we are working directly with the State Government - Tourism Events and Visitor Economy Branch to try and clarify questions from industry. 18.01.2022 There are many myths about the ocean, but rips are the number one hazard on our beaches. Avoid rips by swimming at a patrolled beach between the red and yellow... flags! While many of Phillip Island's beaches may look inviting for swimming, many rips are hard to spot and can often look like a calmer spot to swim. Always swim between the flags. For more information on patrolled beaches visit Woolamai Beach SLSC Patrol Times: Cowes Foreshore: 26 December 2020 6 February 2021 10am-6pm Smiths Beach: 26 December 2020 26 January 2021 10am-6pm Cape Woolamai: 29 December 2020 6 February 2021 10am-6pm *Remember, Woolamai Beach is surf for experienced bathers only, and Cowes Beaches offer relatively low wave beaches close to shore Woolamai Beach SLSC
