25.01.2022 What an awesome town entry sign Have you ever travelled out here?? I'm returning to Adelaide after a short 5 day trip away and due to road closures had to make a small detour
25.01.2022 Red in the morning, Shepard's warning. After a not so good end to yesterday, the sunrise brings a new day. I had to shift hives last night before the farmer sprayed a neighbouring paddock with an insecticide. One could say it was eventful ... Here's a quick overview of how the evening/night went Couldn't mount my newly acquired hive lifter to my trailer in time, meaning i would have to hand load the hives in doubles and triples Borrowed a motorbike ramp and sack truck to be able to pull them up instead of lifting each hive myself Get 20 mins from site and my car decided it doesn't like me anymore and the motor has now gone to heaven Waited for RAA to tow the car away while organising another car to put the trailer on to.load the bees Anthony the long-legged legend came to the rescue Watched my car go onto the flatbed as we took off to load the hives at around 830pm Anthony suited up to help load lifting each hive by hand as the ramp was just a bit small for the sack truck Got loaded, tied down and on our way for a 2 hour drive before reversing the steps and unloading the hives Unloaded and left site just before midnight arriving home around 1AM Few hours kip and up to go pickup the caught swarm at the drive through where I type all this from. You know, Just a standard day for me Hope you all stay dry and have a great day
24.01.2022 A beautiful day to be out driving, especially through the Barossa. A few deliveries to make here and then back through the city before heading up the Freeway to Mt Barker.
24.01.2022 240km left to go. Strong head wind and rough, corrugated dirt roads will make for a slower last leg of the trip. All going well I'll be there in just under 4 hours
23.01.2022 Behind the Storm, south of Cambrai
23.01.2022 Happy Fathers day Dad. It wasn't pretty but we went for a short round of golf this morning, my first in nearly 15 years We had few good hits with a bit of ball hunting through the scrub along the way, the scorecard reflects that (sorry mum )... To my boys, Thankyou for my phone calls this evening. I will see you very soon and after 5 weeks away I'm looking forward to giving you a big squeezey hug. Hope you all had a great day, spending it with your loved ones
23.01.2022 After a busy week where it felt I was flat out going nowhere fast, the time has come for another quick trip up north. I'll be back in a week, ready for the next Honey drive on the 2nd/3rd November
22.01.2022 Can you spot your number on the map? This is our "runsheet" for our Spring Honey Drive. As you can see it's a few kms and is spread out fairly well. I won't get it all done tomorrow and will get to around stop 40, give or take, and the rest finished on Friday. Once again Thankyou to everyone that has supported our small business
22.01.2022 How is your Saturday night going? I'm listening to the slow soaking rain pinging on the shed roof and trickling into the gutters admiring the days work. It's a great feeling to be able to take a 6m length of timber, make numerous cuts, plunge the router into it a few times, whack a few staples in with some glue and hey presto, some freshly made bee boxes appear. Now i just need to wax dip and paint them before i pick up another pack of timber
22.01.2022 I'm sweating more then a gypsy with a mortgage up here today
20.01.2022 Hay, I'll see you round. The time has come for me to do another trip away to NSW. I spent some of the morning at school sports day (with a guest appearance in the parents race) and then adding some boxes onto hives for the bees to fill up while I'm gone, right before a small transport hiccup I'm now on the road.... There's never enough hours in a day to get what I want done and some jobs have built up a bit. I'll be back in 10(ish) days to get back into them, apologies to those that are waiting on me for a removal or honey delivery. Pic taken of the stormy skies just out of Truro on the way to Eudunda. See you soon
20.01.2022 A few more hives on the move tonight. This time, some under nets for pear pollination and some open air pollination for Martin Hill Cherries I'll get some daylight photos of the beautiful bloom next week

11.01.2022 Hey there Queenie
09.01.2022 4 years ago this was the photo that started our business. With our youngest boy only 5 days old, my phone rang non-stop for 3 days with calls from all over Australia. I was Zigging and zagging all over Adelaide rescuing as many bees as I could. We've come along way from a few frames in a makeshift hive to now running a semi commercial operation. Thankyou to each of you for your support along the way and keeping my dreams a reality ... Cheers to another year in our small family business See more
09.01.2022 Enjoy your stay zzub zzub' s #pearpollination
08.01.2022 Righty o Ladies, time to hit the road On a side note, does anyone have a split or straight boom loader? I'm not enjoying hand loading anymore
08.01.2022 Perfect weather for a quick dip, right? Now to twist and turn my way north.
08.01.2022 The storm on its way in
06.01.2022 Quick update: I tested out my brand new second hand split-boom loader. After having some wiring issues at site I finally got loaded up and on the road. 10km down the track and a flat tyre. Whilst fixing that discovered that the middle axle has a little kink in it. (My guess is that is happened leaving the site as the entrance/exit is a sharp drop off the main road and as the wheels were on that point I was also turning to exit). Limped the trailer and hives 50km up the road.... Finally got to the new site and unloaded the hives. Couple creases to iron out and get used to spacing the hives but I'm happy with the loader. It saves me and my back from lifting them by hand. I'll put some pics up soon of the work that's gone into getting the boom ready to use
06.01.2022 A massive thanks to everyone for your support of our small business. We've only a couple of orders to deliver tomorrow after burning a bit too much midnight oil tonight I need to put a time limit on myself chatting but it's great to catch up with each of you and greet our growing supporters. Thankyou once again, enjoy your honey
04.01.2022 After 400km travelled today, that'll do. I got just over half way through the orders but most of the greater distances have been covered. If you didnt get your order today, dont stress, the remaining orders will be delivered tomorrow. Continuing on/ restarting In the Modbury area. Thankyou for your support and patience :)
04.01.2022 After last night's storm, which cut the power about 10:30pm, we are still without power. Good thing the gas burner is still working and I can keep busy branding some new frames.
03.01.2022 Having a slurp
02.01.2022 My turn to share a storm with you Fingers crossed it drops a bit of rain on its way through.
02.01.2022 The bees are better at Hungry Jacks
