25.01.2022 UPDATE: As confirmed by Premier Daniel Andrews in his daily press conference earlier, the DHHS Coronavirus report states there has been 4 new COVID-19 cases in the Colac Otway LGA over the last 24 hours. There have been 131 cases overall since the start of the pandemic, 33 of these are now active. Regional Victoria has 74 active cases, with the rolling 14 day average sitting at 4.7.... Regional Victoria will enter step 2 of the Coronavirus Roadmap at 11:59pm this coming Sunday. Stay Safe Colac and remember to be kind!

24.01.2022 BREAKING: Premier Daniel Andrews has confirmed there are no new COVID-19 cases across regional Victoria today. There are 58 active cases across all regional Victoria local government areas, a decrease from 74 yesterday. Premier Andrews remains confident that regional Victoria can take not one, but two steps forward in our restriction roadmap by the middle of next week.... 22.01.2022 UPDATE (2.30PM): Authorities have closed off most of the main street of Beeac following a large building fire at a property along the road. The fire was believed to have started from an electrical fault and has caused significant damage to the building. Thankfully, everyone inside has escaped unharmed. ... Regional Victoria has 52 active cases, with the rolling 14 day case average dropping to 4.1. 09.01.2022 BREAKING: The Bomb Response unit was called to a Colac address overnight, after a rock and suspected explosive device was thrown at a property at around 3am, producing two large bangs. The occupants who were home at the time discovered a rock had been thrown through the lounge room window and a device out the front of the home, which is a suspected incendiary device. The occupants werent physically injured.... A crime scene has been set up and it is expected detectives and police from the Bomb Response Unit will continue to investigate this morning. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or contact the Colac Police.

05.01.2022 The DHHS has advised Bulla Dairy Foods that one additional team member has tested positive to COVID-19, bringing the total confirmed cases to seven. The DHHS have confirmed this seventh case is not workplace related and occurred through a family household transmission. All 244 day 11 COVID-19 tests have returned a negative result.... 05.01.2022 APOLLO BAY TESTING: Great Ocean Road Health staff are urging anyone who works in the construction industry to undergo a voluntarily asymptomatic COVID screening test at the Apollo Bay pop-up clinic. This is due to construction workers being allowed to travel outside their residential postcode. This asymptomatic testing does not require isolation and will assist in gathering information about a potential COVID outbreak in the community due to the Apollo Bay positive wastewater... results. The pop-up clinic is open today at the Apollo Bay Golf Club from 9am til 4pm.

04.01.2022 Unattended campfires have been an issue this summer holidays which has lead to increased calls of urging campfire safety this long weekend. Regulatory Program Manager Mark Breguet says authorised officers will be on high alert with serious penalties for those who are are found lighting campfires in an unsafe manner.

04.01.2022 BREAKING: The Victorian premier Daniel Andrews has just announced regional Victoria will be opening up in the next 24 hours. From 11.59pm tomorrow night, regional Victoria will move to step 3 of the state governments roadmap plan. - The four reasons to leave home will no longer apply.... - Outdoor gathering limits will increase to 10 people, with infants under 12 months excluded from that number. - Up to five visitors will be allowed in the home from a nominated household, and school will be a staggered start over the first couple of weeks of Term 4. - Hospitality and entertainment will be allowed, subject to gathering limits, and some other requirements around density. - Retail will be expanded to include personal services such as beauty and tattooing, where a mask can be worn. - Outdoor auctions will be permitted with a limit of 10 people. All community sport will return for children and non-contact sport will be permitted for adults. - Gathering limits for weddings will increase to 10 people, and for funerals to 20 mourners. - Outdoor religious gatherings will increase to up to 10 people, plus one faith leader. - Tourist accommodation will open for regional Victorians in regional Victoria, and every single business across regional Victoria will be required to have a COVID-safe plan, and those plans will be enforced from 28 September. The premier has also confirmed no new COVID-19 have been recorded across regional Victoria, active cases are now sitting at 43, a decrease of FOUR since yesterday.

04.01.2022 BREAKING: A COVID-normal Christmas is on track with the Victorian Premier announcing from Sunday December 13, 30 visitors will be allowed into the one household - giving us more freedom for Christmas Day. Masks will only now be required IN ALL SETTINGS INSIDE ONLY but are no longer required to be worn outside. Although everyone must still carry their masks with them. The Premier has officially confirmed announcements regarding easing of COVID-restrictions statewide from 11.59...pm tonight: - 15 visitors are allowed into the one household per day. - Outdoors gatherings in public spaces increase to 50. - Hospitality venues are now allowed to have 100 visitors inside and 200 outside, for smaller venues, the density limit will change to one person for every two square metres up to 50 customers. - Community clubs, contact and non-contact sports can begin for adults as well as kids 150 people indoors with a group size of up to 20 and 500 outdoors with groups of up to 50. - Cinemas, galleries and museums will also be able to host up to 150 people indoors.
