25.01.2022 At 3 Little Kids, we respect and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the children, their families and staff. We consistently take pride in including the languages spoken by the families, traditional clothing and food into our learning programs and environment. On Wednesday, our educators created a display with dolls and special items from around the world. Children got to learn lots of words in different languages. They also did a gallery walk to look at the collection which encouraged lots of discussions and promoted cultural awareness. #beingculturallyresponsive #respect #lifeskills

21.01.2022 Next week is Jeans for Genes day. We will be wearing our Jeans next Friday (7th August) in support of this great cause. If you would like to help us you can donate by clicking the link below. What is Jeans for Genes? We were created by the community for one purposeto do the difficult research needed to save childrens lives.... Our research at Childrens Medical Research Institute has helped eliminate Rubella, introduced care for premature infants, and developed microsurgery techniques for organ transplants that save lives every day. 1 in 20 kids face a birth defect or genetic disease, and 30% of childrens hospital admissions are due to genetic disorders, so we know there is still much work to be done. Not all research is the same. We conduct fundamental (meaning fundamentally important) medical and biological research. We ask the difficult questions. What causes cancer? How do we stop it? Can we prevent birth defects? How do we cure genetic diseases? Our task is to make the future better by finding treatments and even cures, but we cant do that without your support.

19.01.2022 Mitch loves building cubby houses with magnetic shapes. He decided to make one for his car and was a bit disappointed as it was too small and he couldnt close the door. An educator took this opportunity to help Mitch solve the problem and create a better design with moving parts and more detail. After lots of talking, scaffolding and trying different shapes, they came up with a design for Mitchy. He was very pleased with the new cubby and he kept breaking it and building it ...over and over again At 3 little kids we take pride in working closely with children as we understand the important role conversations play in early language development. We observe the little people we work with and appropriately scaffold their learning. 07.01.2022 This morning Mitch was looking out the window and spotted small balls on the tree. So we decided to go and get some and explore with them. We put them into a tray and had a look in our garden for some more plants to play with. Mitch used a bucket and we picked some flowers and some herbs from our garden. Once we tipped the bucket into the tray we started to explore all our treasures. We used describing words such as soft, hard and spiky. We also used our nose to smell the flowers and our herbs.
