24.01.2022 Looking at renovating your bathroom but don’t know where to start Here is an idea of how a bathroom renovation works Give us a call for all your plumbing renovation works... Source: hipages.com.au 1. Strip-out can take up to two or three days 2.Builder will do any structural work or repair water-damage, if needed. The time will vary depending on the amount of work. 3. Carpenter will make modifications where necessary 4. Plumber "roughs in" pipes and drainage. If you're not moving your bath, shower or vanity, this can take less than a day. It will take longer if you are moving plumbing 5. Electrician roughs in wiring. The plumber and electrician may be able to work at the same time if the work is not too complex 6. Tiler comes in to prepare the floor and walls. This can take up to two days. The tiling will take place later. 7. Water-proofing: you may have to wait up to five days to allow the waterproofing membrane to cure. Your waterproofer will tell you how long the curing process takes. Read Your bathroom waterproofing checklist for more details about this important part of the process 8. A built-in bath will be installed after waterproofing. A freestanding bath will be installed after the floor is tiled. 9. Cornice moulding will be installed, if needed. Tiling, grouting and painting is done next. The time will vary, but it can take up to a week to complete. If you are installing floor-to-ceiling tiles, the ceiling will be painted first. 10. Shower screen installer will measure the shower enclosure space. They will install the shower later. Vanity and storage cabinets will be installed. This can take from one to three days depending on the amount of cabinetry 11. Plumber and electrician do your fit-outs (up to three days). If you choose a freestanding bath, it will be installed at this stage 12. Shower screen, mirrors and accessories are installed Final clean and inspection
