24.01.2022 What an amazing finish to the Carter, Lindsay and Weber Ladies Campdraft yesterday. A run off after the final saw Emma O’Shea take the blue ribbon with a Rebecc...a Roberts placing second. Rebecca also won the cut out after a run off. Well done ladies on a great start to the weekend. Thank you to our kind sponsors and those who supplied prizes: Valley View Flowers, Angus Barrett Saddlery, Maloney Livestock Transport, Sam & Belle Mooney and Easy on Rugs. A special mention also goes to Burragillo Farming for the beautiful garland. See more

17.01.2022 We're urging landholders to be on the look out for locusts With bumper crops on the horizon it's important to report any suspected Australian plague locusts -... so look closely at any grasshoppers that may be appearing around crops! Increased groundcover in the region mean early locust sightings may be harder to spot. Adult plague locusts usually like to lay eggs in harder loamy red soils, especially on compact roads next to crops, tree lines and farm buildings, especially those built on higher ground such as ridges. Locust egg beds can be identified by a series of small holes in the earth, but they can be difficult to find. One reliable indicator of new hatchlings emerging is the presence of flocks of ibis, wood swallows, crows and other large birds, which like to feed on them. If you see any indication of locusts hatching or flying near you this Spring, please report as soon as possible. For more info > https://bit.ly/346mINS

05.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who listened to the first episode of Seeds for Success - the show hit #12 on Apple Podcasts education category chart! We are enjoying being a...ble to share some untold stories of local people doing a good job on their place. District Vet and podcast interviewer Jill Kelly summed it up like this: "I think it's an extension of the Drought Smoko concept and I think the reason people loved Drought Smokos during the dry was because it was groups of farmers coming together and sharing stories; what worked, what didn't and what they're having trouble with. I think this is how to take those stories to anyone who wants to listen through the podcast platform." New episode next week...stay tuned... www.lls.nsw.gov.au/seeds See more
