24.01.2022 This spectacular herbaceous plant is known as the #Kangaroo Paw, aptly named because the flower head resembles a kangaroo's paw. There are a total of 12 species of Kangaroo Paw and all are found within southwest Western Australia. This particular species is known as Anigozanthos manglesii, the Red and green kangaroo paw and is the floral emblem of Western Australia.

14.01.2022 Check out these critters. The Northern Quoll (Dasyurus hallucatus) is an EPBC listed endangered species occurring in northern Australia. 4 Elements Consulting was involved in radio tracking Quolls on the Atherton tablelands in far north Queensland, as part of a Northern Quoll Management Plan. Here, a female Quoll was radio-tracked to her den, with several juvenile Quolls! Its a great result to see these animals doing well within this area #endangeredspecies

09.01.2022 Here's another interesting project the team at 4 Elements Consulting have been working on: The Greater Glider (Petauroides volans) is listed as vulnerable under both federal and state legislation. 4 Elements Consulting have been actively radio tracking nine Greater Gliders and has gathered some interesting results regarding den selection, ranging patterns, and preferred food trees in far north queensland. 07.01.2022 Currently in flower is the Native Cardoman (Horstedtia scottiana) which occurs in lowland rainforest and edges of swamps within North Queensland. It's distribution extends from Ingham north to Lockhart River. This species is an interesting member of the ginger family with huge leaf stems sometimes up to 4m in height sheltering bright red basal flowers. Fruits are known to be eaten by the Southern Cassowary.

This girl is known as the ‘Bungalow Bandit’ who has kept the publicans awake at night at The Bungalow Hotel. A happy ending for this girl where she will have the opportunity to thrive and breed!

02.01.2022 Flora surveys on the Atherton Tablelands in NE Qld have picked up a population of over 100 Swamp Orchid (Phaius australis), listed Endangered under both state and federal legislation. The swamp orchid is one of Australia's largest and most beautiful orchids with a flower spike often exceeding 1 m in height. It favors permanently damp growing conditions typical of swamps. This species is now very rare primarily due to over collecting and draining of wetlands for development activities.
