25.01.2022 Three cheers for the City of Subiaco for this great initiative - supporting local artists and performers to spread 'Moments of Joy' throughout the City - unexpected moments that utilise creativity to brighten the day of those who encounter it. This afternoon we had the pleasure of playing for a lovely group of very disciplined physical distancers, out enjoying the glorious autumn weather in Mabel Talbot Park. Sorry, we didn't announce this beforehand because of outdoor gatherings still being restricted to 20 people. We think it's great that the City of Subiaco has put so much thought into both supporting performers and providing residents with some unexpected live entertainment, and are looking forward to popping up again in Cliff Sadlier Park and Lake Jualbup soon.

25.01.2022 Our philistine leaders think the Arts are worthless. Let's show them what we think! Please read, sign and SHARE!!! Started yesterday and already 5,000 signatures.

23.01.2022 Things are happening in Subiaco - on the corner of Rokeby Road and Forrest Walk to be precise, from 4pm - 6pm Friday 10 July. We will be playing, with the glorious Perth Drag Queens also making an appearance https://www.perthdragqueens.com.au, and to top it off, an ice sculpture will be completed as you watch! Bring a folding chair if you like - there are some benches, or maybe get an outdoor table at the Italian, Lulu La Delizia (opens 5pm) - the weather is looking good, and they have heaters! Thanks once again to the City of Subiaco for the opportunity to perform. See you there!

22.01.2022 Spread the word! We're in...just finding a suitable porch.

21.01.2022 A couple of photos from our Concert for Wildlife Care WA at the Wembley Sports Park Pavilion last Sunday.

21.01.2022 Here's what we have been doing in the last couple of weeks. As Four on Six we like to cross musical boundaries, which are really just artificial anyway. Another thing we also like to do is tell stories, and as the Kaleidoscope Ensemble, founded by Gillian in 2003, we do performances of picture books, with the illustrations projected onto a screen. When our performances of 'Somewhere Else' were cancelled last month we decided to make this video. We play all the music and sound effects live in the shows, but it was great fun to take advantage of today's home recording possibilities. Yes, it got bigger than Ben Hur :-) So get comfortable and enjoy it!

20.01.2022 Pat Metheny has always been a great inspiration to us. This is our interpretation of one of his lesser known compositions - a beautiful little melody with gorgeous harmonies. It's also one of Sammy's favourites. :-)

19.01.2022 Scenes from Saturday - thanks to everyone who came along, and once again to the City of Subiaco for making it possible.

18.01.2022 What a special evening! Thank you to everyone who came along to our Four on Six & Friends: Concert for Wildlife Care WA last night. Warmest thanks to our special guests Melissa Cooper, DFES District Officer at Department of Fire & Emergency Services WA, who gave us a great insight into the work she does (what a star!) and volunteer wildlife carers, Lyn Manuel and Carole Gamsby, who brought young Ash, the sweet orphaned joey. Lyn's talk was very moving, and it makes us so ha...ppy to have been able to raise just over $2,000 to help them continue the incredible work they do. Peter Holland, Cathie Travers & Zola Li - you are all Legends! If you were not able to come to the concert and would like to donate, Wildlife Care WA inc. is a registered charity. Here are the bank details BSB: 086-484 ACC: 421268961

17.01.2022 This is what we were doing four years ago. Together with Ron Reeves and Joanne Foley we devised this little show, which was a tremendous amount of fun all round. Stumbling on this video again made us realise how much we miss performing live.

17.01.2022 Thank you once again to the Post and photographer Paul McGovern for the article in this week's edition. There are still tickets available, but don't miss out! Call 0411 841 716 or book online: www.trybooking.com/BIASD

16.01.2022 A wonderfully wise and insightful essay from Antony Ernst, artistic director, dramaturg, lecturer and arts administrator.

15.01.2022 Hooray! At midnight tonight the restrictions will be eased to allow 100 people to gather in one space both in- and outdoors, so we can safely let you know that we will be playing in two of the local parks tomorrow afternoon: Saturday 6 June 1:45pm - 2:45pm Lake Jualbup, Shenton Park (Evans Street end) 3pm - 4pm Cliff Sadlier Memorial Park (aka Dog Park), Daglish (Northmore Street end) A huge round of thanks again to the City of Subiaco for the brilliant ideas and support. We believe there will also be some artists painting at the train station, and drag queens in Rokeby Road later in the day. Subiaco is where it's all at - hope to see you there!

05.01.2022 This is REALLY important - we cannot just sit on our hands and watch this bunch of philistines destroy our country! So many battles to be fought at right now, b...ut this one is the one we know. Thanks to Tim Cunniffe for taking the initiative. If you care about the Arts, please read, sign and share the **** out of this. See more

04.01.2022 We were asked to do a little something for Mother's Day - we had a couple of ideas, and because we couldn't choose which one, here is the first of two: Sidney Bechet's Si tu vois ma mère, which is really a love declaration to mothers. <3

04.01.2022 How fast things can change! Not even three weeks ago, at our fundraiser concert for Wildlife Care WA, we said we would be shortly be announcing our dates for the next series of performances. In the light of what is happening at the moment, we have put everything on hold. It's going to be a tough time for everyone, particularly for many free-lance arts-workers and performers. We are lucky, as we can knuckle down and work on some half-finished projects...maybe even a new CD m...ight emerge. Performance artist and writer from Perth, Marisa Gareffa, lives in Florence and has written this very insightful and compassionate article. Well worth reading. Stay safe!

04.01.2022 Don't miss this! On Sunday 28 June at 2pm Live-streamed world premiere of music composed and performed by Kathy Potter - a fascinating programme of three very ...different works - Reflection and Rumination for solo viola and pre-recorded audio, a delightful short animated film with Kathy's soundtrack, and the picture book 'Banjo and Ruby Red' by Libby Gleeson and Freya Blackwood, wonderfully musically illustrated by Kathy on viola and narrated by yours truly! Book a ticket ($5 or more) here, and Eventbrite will send you the link to the YouTube page. Please support this great project - kids will love the film and the story too. See more

01.01.2022 Just another Saturday in Subiaco :D

01.01.2022 We hope everyone is doing okay in these rather troubled times. Here's a long overdue musical greeting from our sunroom: Django Reinhardt's 'Troublant Boléro'. Includes a cameo apearance of Sammy, who was ready to go on her fourth walk for the day.
