12.01.2022 The Newcastle Light Rail network celebrates one year of operation! 4Tel wish to congratulate the teams involved and look forward to the continued success of the Light Rail and ongoing revitalisation of Newcastle’s CBD. Priority Traffic Light software is one of the innovations 4Tel developed for the Newcastle Light Rail project. 4Tel created the software which gives light rail vehicles right-of-way at intersections, ensuring the tram only needs to stop at stations. This 4Tel developed solution has applied a simple concept to significantly improve train driver situational awareness, and therefore reduce the likelihood of a train exceeding authority limits.
