09.01.2022 On this day......16.11.1942 - 22.01.1943 Battle of the Beachheads - Buna - Gona - Sanananda, New Guinea. Fierce and costly fighting resulted in an allied victory over the Japanese. We Will Remember Them.... The Allied plan for the attacks on Buna, Sanananda and Gona in November 1942, with the main Japanese defended areas shown in red.
