25.01.2022 At 12:01am tonight, travellers to Western Australia from interstate will no longer need to meet an exemption category, however they will be required to meet a n...umber of conditions to enter our State. Failure to adhere to those conditions or providing false information upon entry to Western Australia will result in fines of up to $50,000 or even jail time. Tonight, the G2G Pass system will change over to the new declaration system. Travellers to Western Australia will need to complete a declaration stipulating they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms. They will also need to declare they haven’t travelled to New South Wales or Victoria OR they haven’t knowingly come into contact with someone from those jurisdictions in the past 14 days. Once interstate travellers arrive at the airport, they will be processed, undergoing a health screening and temperature test. All travellers should be prepared to take a COVID-19 test at our newly established Perth Airport COVID Clinics, if deemed necessary by a health clinician. Travellers coming from New South Wales or Victoria, or who have been in close contact with someone from those States, will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days in a suitable premise. In addition, they will also need to take a COVID-19 test on Day 11, before they can come out of quarantine. We know these ongoing controls won't be convenient. There will be delays at the airport. The process may be frustrating for many people. But if you are coming to WA, we ask for your patience and understanding. These controls are in place to protect everyone, including your friends and family here in WA - and they are all in place based on our expert health advice.

25.01.2022 Pindar. Wreath flower frenzy. #4wdozdvdontheroad #4wdozdvd #roadtrip2020 #wildflowerswa @ Pindar, Western Australia, Australia

23.01.2022 I was surprised to find how cheap it was to camp at Cadoux, and to discover that my few dollars covered not only the power, but also access to the bathroom (unisex) facilities. https://youtu.be/IXw9M8Ums8E

23.01.2022 Touring through NSW in 2010, and stumbled across this monument to early Celtic Pioneers. Expressions of interest were held Australia wide, and Glen Innes was chosen to host the monument. https://youtu.be/SjoZBJDhjg8

21.01.2022 I was told that I had to look at the wreath Flowers at Pindar (Western Australia). Now I'm no botanist, and to be truthful the old pub held more interest for me (having seen it abandoned in 2007), but I did as I was told ... and missed out on getting a close look at the pub. https://youtu.be/Azj0wTVbIng

20.01.2022 Pindar camp spot.

20.01.2022 Well, that year is done and dusted. Fires, Floods, Covid, Lockdowns, Border Closures. Personally, I can't see what the fuss is all about (I do totally understand and empathise with everybody else's feelings and point of view on this - I did say PERSONALLY) We have been fortunate in the West to have not been impacted to the same extent as the Eastern sea board has. We have a vast state with many attractions to keep us amused, and apart from a month or so of regional lockdowns,... we have been free to indulge. But for all that, I have been tied to my computer for the past twelve months editing and producing 75 finished videos, which would have been the case regardless. So for me, it's been a good "normal" year. 2021 - who knows what is in store, but there is no point whinging about our situation. The sun will still set tonight, and rise tomorrow, and life will go on. In my 74th year, I see everyday I wake up as a bonus, and every setback as a challenge to be met and overcome. Do I have travel plans? Yes I do, but of course, whether they come to fruition is out of my hands. If they do, you can be sure there will be a video story to go with it. Happy 2021 everyone. Just live it. See more

19.01.2022 I don't think I would recommend this method of river crossing ...

18.01.2022 The oldest surviving home in the Carnemah district is the Macpherson Homestead built in the early 1870s #4wdozdvdontheroad #4wdozdvd #roadtrip2020 @ Carnamah, Western Australia

18.01.2022 The Eyre Highway, so much to see and do, if you take your time and are prepared to explore. In 2010, we set out to film this amazing stretch of road and produced a DVD, which we have now discontinued. In subsequent years, we have made the trip a number of times, and have finally updated and reassembled all of the footage that we have taken to produce what we think may be the definitive look at what is available for the intrepid traveller to explore.

17.01.2022 Pindar pub thru the front Windows, Our Lady Of Mt Carmel priesthouse Mullewa, Wongoondy Hall, my old work mate Sandy Jones, and more wildflowers. Thanks for your hospitality Sandy. #4wdozdvdontheroad #4wdozdvd #roadtrip2020 #wildflowerswa @ Mingenew, Western Australia

17.01.2022 If you've stayed with us over the past few years, you'll no doubt have heard a little about the refurbishment and rebuild process, with so many stories to tell ...about the building, the town and their histories. A quality base camp, rich in story, the Premier Mill Hotel (as well as Katanning and the region) is being featured on tomorrow's episode of Hotelsbydesign on Channel 10, Saturday Oct 3 at 2.30pm local time. Here's a little glimpse. We'd love you to tune in. #katanning #premiermillhotel #greatsouthern #thegreatsouthern #waheritage #heritagehotel #justanotherdayinwa #thisiswa #roadtripsouth #roadtripwa #westernaustraliauncovered

16.01.2022 Starting at about 200m and rising to 1100m, this picturesque road is one of the most enjoyable drives that I have been lucky enough to experience - whilst towing a 3.2 tonne caravan what's more. If you've got 20 minutes to spare, sit back, relax, and enjoy this drive with me. And if you haven't ... do it anyway https://youtu.be/RMpECVNX_2I

15.01.2022 We were in Queensland in 2010, and travelling from Bundaberg to Roma, when we came across the Historic Boondooma Homestead. So we stopped to have a look. https://youtu.be/kAvzq_5h8hc

14.01.2022 A blast from the past at Watheroo ... I was living in Morawa 1968-71, and used to travel to Wanneroo Raceway (now Barbagallo) to get my motor racing fix pre nat...ional motor racing happening. I recall seeing the Neptune Racing Team with Peter Manton (Mini Cooper) Jim McKeown (Lotus Cortina) and Norm Beechey, who drove a number of different cars during his tenure including Holden S4, Mustang and Chevy ... and I can't remember which one he was driving when I saw them. Neptune Oil Company was an Australian independent petroleum company based in Melbourne, Victoria. The company was established in 1909 as a privately owned company. The company was taken over by the Shell Oil company in 1975.

14.01.2022 We called into the Caranbirini Conservation Reserve whilst filing our Savannah Way DVD (just a few left). We had been to Borroloola, and determined to check out the park as we wound our way back to Cape Crawford. https://youtu.be/HwZ8mmB66Uw

11.01.2022 It's been an "I've been everywhere" day today. Mogumber, Gingin (WA), Seabird and Regans Ford. #4wdozdvdontheroad #4wdozdvd #roadtrip2020 @ Chittering, Western Australia, Australia

10.01.2022 September 2020 was wildflower in Western Australia, and I decided to take advantage and head up into the Midlands and have a look, meanwhile revisiting the country that I had worked in when in my early twenties in what seemed like a hundred years ago ... it was 1968-9. https://youtu.be/JZAshvvfFDw

10.01.2022 We were at Lake Tinaroo in Queensland, and decided to return to Mareeba via a track cross country. It wound up being a one lane track winding around a mountain through a National Park, with steep drops on the side and nowhere to pass if we were unlucky enough to meet oncoming traffic. It tested the nerves and got the adrenaline pumping. https://youtu.be/qd6nQ1_EFJI

08.01.2022 Travelling from Burketown near the Gulf of Carpentaria to Borroloola in the Northern Territory along the Great Top Road, there are only two Towns/Roadhouses, ...the second of those is a Roadhouse with the cute name of Hells Gate. It was getting close to time to find somewhere to camp, but I found time to drop in and grab a coffee. See more

08.01.2022 It was July 2010, we were in Ingham and decided to have a look at Wallaman Falls, which has the longest waterfall drop in Australia. But we drove all this way, through low flying cloud, to only listen to the Falls - we couldn't see a bloody thing. So we decided to head across to Mount Fox Crater, which again, we didn't find. So we wandered through the forest looking for a place called Paluma. Heading down the mountain, we came across this beautiful old bridge. It was just one of a number of places we just had to stop and film.

08.01.2022 I'm back in Albany, and booked back into my favourite caravan park. If you are looking at coming to Albany, this is the best little park in (just out of) town. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-5ExsQ3gfM

08.01.2022 I took this photo yesterday arvo minutes before the downpour. For those of you that have driven Lake Argyle Rd driving towards the Lake, Im sure that you would... remember this view. As you first drive over the hill and get the first glimpse of the lake the feeling is OMG! I have literally driven it hundreds of times and it still takes my breath away every time. Tourism in the Kimberley for 2021 is at a critical knife edge and a lot of small businesses may not be able to go on if travel restrictions are continued and this breaks my heart. So please I am urging Western Australians to support the Kimberley in 2021 especially places in Kununurra and Lake Argyle. Book your flights, pack the car and come check it out for yourself. 07.01.2022 It was about May in 2010, and we had decided to have a look at the Carnarvon National Park, seeing as how we were in the vicinity. We parked the van at Injune, and spent a couple of nights camping in the Mount Moffatt section of the park. It was quite an experience. You can see the entire Carnarvon National Park video (in HD) on our YouTube channel.

04.01.2022 We called into Latham in August 2020. Although having lived in Morawa back in the sixties, I had never called into Latham. This visit was way overdue. The owner of the old Latham School is looking for any history or stories relating to the school. Surprisingly, there is very little available from the Education Dept and the local shire. If anyone can help, drop a line to [email protected] https://youtu.be/G4L31_3F4TQ

03.01.2022 We've busy uploading videos to YouTube. So many places to add to our channel. Search 4wdozdvd. #4wdozdvdontheroad #4wdozdvd

03.01.2022 It was Christmas Day 2004, I was driving to Albany, it was 40, and I had just purchased a s/h Landcruiser. It had done 152k, and it cost more money than I ever intended to spend on a motorcar. It has since done a number of tours around and through the middle of Australia. The engine died last year at 546k. We put a new motor in, and we are now hoping for another 500k ... Why did I buy it? I had intentions of travelling to the NT in 5 months time and I wanted a vehicle that w...ould get me to wherever I wanted to go ... it was my first 4WD, and I knew nothing about 4WD. And so a couple of weeks before I set off on a two month tour of the outback, some friends and I decided to do a shake down trip up the coast to Cervantes along what is today Indian Ocean Drive, except back then it was tracks through the sandhills through what was a military firing range. This was baptism by fire. Sadly the tracks we drove no longer exist. This video is that first ever 4WD trip in the "Old Girl". We had a lot of fun, got lost at night, and finally found our way into Cervantes in the dark and still managed to get a spot in the caravan park. https://youtu.be/LBOWteuyI_Y See more

03.01.2022 Wilcannia is promoted as being "Middle of Nowhere, Centre of Everywhere". It is surrounded by National Parks, White Cliffs to the North, Menindee to the south, Broken Hill to the West, and Cobar to the East. It was once a major port on the Darling River. Today it is a town full of beautiful old buildings, but does it have a soul? https://youtu.be/MYdTagOFO5U

02.01.2022 There comes a point in time when you ask yourself whether you just made the right decision ... and invariably, you haven't. I checked out the old Christian Brothers Ag School site at Tardun in Western Australia, and decided to also see if I could find the original "Old Camp" site ... and I did it towing a 30' long, very tall caravan ... https://youtu.be/M9kCd5hxvB8

02.01.2022 The Western Australian border opens conditionally this Saturday, 14th November. Travellers should consider travelling along the Great Southern Hwy, or Route 120, from Perth to Albany. No trucks and plenty to see. We filmed the route in 2017. The DVD is an excellent tool for use in planning your trip. And it's only $10 including postage. Order it now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnWU1wlijSM&t=10s

01.01.2022 Chillagoe in Queensland had been on my bucket list since 2010, and last year (2019), I finally got it done. I wasn't disappointed. https://youtu.be/fvr_KYW5v7g
