25.01.2022 Its our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? if someone in your world is struggling with lifes ups and downs. THERES MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK? 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. In the lead-up to R U OK?Day well help Australians know what to say when som...eone says theyre not OK and guide them through how they can continue a conversation that could change a life. You dont have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says theyre not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before theyre in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. Heres what you can say after asking them R U Okay?

03.01.2022 It is with the very heaviest of heart that we are letting our listeners know that unfortunately Mark Plummer passed away on Monday night from causes that we do not yet know. Mark was a kind, caring and amazing friend, work colleague and radio family member. Knowing and working with Mark and his fun loving genuine soul has been nothing short of an absolute pleasure and all of the laughs, stories, guidance, knowledge and memories the he shared with us will always be held dearl...y in all of our hearts. Mark was radio royalty and his passing will leave a part of not just 4WK, but also the radio world, empty. It is an understatement to say that Mark will be greatly missed by all of us at 4WK. He is irreplaceable. We love you Mark, Rest in Peace.

02.01.2022 Local fire ban for South East Region residents 22nd September 2020 4:00 PM Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) has imposed a local fire ban for South East Region residents. ... The local fire ban will be in place from 00:01am Wednesday 23 September for residents in the Logan, Scenic Rim, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley and Somerset local government areas. Conditions are perfect for bushfires to ignite and spread quickly. Under a local fire ban all open fires are prohibited and all Permits to Light Fire which have been issued in the designated areas have been cancelled. Power tools may be used during a local fire ban however QFES encourages people to use these with extreme care and ensure adequate equipment is available to extinguish any fire which may start. This may include having a person available to watch out for any ignitions that occur. The ban is expected to remain in place until 11:59pm Saturday 26 September. Information on fire bans and the exemptions that can apply can be found on the RFS website, www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au.
