22.01.2022 We wanted to say a big thank you to Phillip Tanner from Creative Tourism Solutions for offering his vast experience in the tourism industry, 4x4ing and the council itself, to assist us navigate the red tape to get us up and running, all out of the goodness of his heart and his passion to see the project come to life. I have said it before but it is truly humbling to see all the offers of assistance and very much appreciated.
21.01.2022 We wanted to give you all an update. Currently we are still working through the insurance side of things which is tricky (as we knew it would be), just to see what kind of costs to expect and risks to mitigate. In addition we continue on our hunt for the right piece of land ... searching for the right location, the right size, the right zoning (rural farming), and the right price. This has actually been tougher than we thought it would be, but we will continue on our hunt. ...We will find the perfect spot, we just need to be patient, which is hard as we just want to get it all happening like we’re sure you all do too!! Most the land that we have seen falls outside of the Logan City Council, and if you have been following us for a while, you will know that we were hoping to keep it within the Logan area to keep it local. Whilst the land search continues, we have been busy putting together lots of fun stuff like: Indemnity Forms Code of Conduct Safety Plan Risk Management Plan Media Release Dog Policy Emergency Plans Whoo hoo for the red tape, lol. Thanks for following along with our journey, we will continue to keep you updated as things progress and just wanted to let you know that work is continuing to try and get this project off the ground as soon as possible.
21.01.2022 Quick question. If you have to drive on a corrugated road to get to the 4x4 Play Park, how much corrugation is too much corrugation in terms of distance? How much would it put you off going there?
17.01.2022 We have started putting feelers out for how much insurance is going to cost which we all know is the touchy subject so send us good vibes that we get some good news. In other news my wife and I went and had a look at several different potential sites the weekend before last but none were quite right so we are continuing our search.
06.01.2022 We had a further meeting with Robyn on Wednesday who is the Business Development Executive for Tourism / Economic Development and Strategy Branch | Logan City Council and again Robyn and the council have been so positive and helpful, it has been a pleasure to have these meetings. Robyn brought a large map of Logan, showing the applicable zonings across all of Logan so we (4x4 Play Park), could review the areas to focus our efforts on sourcing the right land and not waste our... time looking in the wrong places. If you have been following the page, we are wanting to have a local and condensed 4x4 Play Park, and the best chances of success and getting approved hinges on land that is zoned as Rural - Farming. The aim is and has always been to have the park in the Logan area, within an hour of Brisbane CBD. So the search continues for land that is not only the right size, location, zoning, price, but also has the ingredients to make a great park for those of us that love having some fun in our 4x4s. In the meantime, we will be looking at some land on the weekend, so let’s keep our fingers crossed. We will continue to keep you posted.
