22.01.2022 It's good to see our diggers supporting both the recent firefighting effort and honey bee recovery.

19.01.2022 After a successful term 1/2019, we break for Easter and ANZAC Day, supporting some of our local RSL services. We have also sent 7 students away to Katanning for the annual 53 Battalion JLC (Junior Leaders Course) training our next generation of cadet leaders and we look forward to beginning term 2/2019 on Tuesday 30APR19.

14.01.2022 We have started the New Year with our new Officer Commanding, 2LT(AAC) Bob Gray, after the somewhat longer than usual process of handover/takeover with the well earned retirement of the tireless CAPT(AAC) Gay Phillips. We may be able to drag her away from the 'easy life' on occasions if required so we might see her around every now and then. We also welcome 2LT(AAC) Michelle Eddy as our Training Officer and have started gearing up for the year ahead with new recruits coming o...n board and the progression of those cadets recently completing promotion courses starting in their new roles, full of enthusiasm. This will create room for further promotion of our junior ranks as more courses are attended. If you are interested, or know anyone who may be, we are still taking new recruits with the prerequisite age of 13 to 16 and in Year 8 or above. We parade on Tuesday nights at the rear of John Tonkin College - Tindale Campus, on Gibla Street in Mandurah. See www.armycadets.gov.au for further information. We are also on the lookout for any parents or other adults to volunteer to assist us, especially with the Q Store, experience is helpful but not necessary. See more

13.01.2022 As of midnight tonight, due to precautions taken for the Corona virus (COVID-19) all AAC activities for 504 Army Cadet Unit - Mandurah will be suspended until 01 May 20, and possibly revised further, as per the following ACKNOTE that has been posted on CadetNet and should be emailed out to all cadets shortly: ACKNOTE 08/20 SUSPENSION OF AUSTRALIAN ARMY CADET ACTIVITIES OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY 1. Direction. This ACKNOTE directs the suspension of Australian Army...Continue reading

10.01.2022 As you can imagine, COVID-19 has been a challenge for 504 ACU, just as it has for everyone. Last term, we were limited to 'virtual' parades via Zoom video but with the easing of some restrictions, we have started to parade 'face-to-face', with last night being our second week back. Hopefully by the end of this term or next, we will be able to get out in the field on either some Unit or Battalion FX's (Field Exercises). So click on to https://www.armycadets.gov.au and have a look at Australia's premiere youth program and start the process to enrol your child, aged 13-16 years of age (able to stay enrolled in Army Cadets until the end of their 18th year) and get in touch with us. Regards, 504 ACU.

03.01.2022 Our first exercise for the new year was held this weekend at HMAS Stirling, Exercise 'Creswell'. We joined the other 8 units from 53 Battalion, with almost 200 participants from 52 ACU (Armadale), 54 ACU (Baldivis), 59 ACU (Rockingham), 504 ACU (Mandurah), 505 ACU (Albany), 511 ACU (Busselton), 512 ACU (Narrogin), 515 ACU (Bunbury) and 518 ACU (Katanning). The cadets were mixed up and split into 4 equal-sized platoons and rotated through a number of stands, including; canoein...g, military skills, observation lanes, first aid, some time in the Fleet Base West gym playing team sports and a hands-on experience with the fire truck and equipment that is based on the island and finishing off at the base pool. They were then treated to a very good documentary, narrated by Sam Worthington, about the 'Battle Long Tan' to finish off the evening. The Navy galley/mess put on a good spread, as always and the weather was great, as well. A great time was had by all with new friendships made and old ones reacquainted. We will be back, this Tuesday coming, at our usual parade time of 1830-2130 at the rear of John Tonkin College, Tindale campus, come and join us. See more

02.01.2022 Well done to our 504 ACU cadets who participated in the local ANZAC Day services and at their school service.
