23.01.2022 AND WE ARE LIVE!!! Check out our website for our new tour details. We have been busy coming up with a plan to work around the COVID-19 pandemic and all of the ...challenges that it has sent our way and we are glad to announce our plan to you. All of the details of our tours are on our website here including our COVID-19 Update page where you can follow the changes we have had to make to our business. www.herveybaywhalewatch.com.au To break it down to its simplest form we now offer 3 different tours during whale season 1. 1x Half Day Whale Watch Experience 2. Private Whale Watch Experince 3. Local Scenic Sunset Cruise All of the finer details of these products are on our website but we will touch on those briefly here. Half Day Whale Watch- This is like our Morning whale watch in previous years with slightly different times and inclusions. we depart a little bit later now to give you a chance to have breakfast before your tour. Departs - 7:45am Returns - 1:30pm We have extended this tour slightly to give us more time with the whales. This tour runs via Kingfisher Bay Resort on Kgari (Fraser Island) from August 1st to pick up extra guests then out to the whales, this offers you the option to upgrade to the Whales and Lunch @ Fraser Island ticket, where you can hop off the boat when we return to Kingfisher Bay and have lunch and return to mainland (marina or accommodation) via the resort Barge and busses all of that for just $35 extra. (Includes - any pick off the menu, use of the resort facilities and return transport) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Private Whale Watch - We have reserved our afternoons for these tours, Because of our mandatory reduction of capacity it now makes it very affordable to book out the whole boat for Yourself. Coming in at $1850 for up to 30 passengers and including SWIMMING WITH THE WHALES!!! (If the chance arrises) this is incredible value if you and a small group of friends or family want the whole boat to yourselves and avoid any crowds or queues. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Local Scenic Sunset Cruise - We have extended out Half Day Whale Watch a little bit so instead of trying to squeeze in another Whale Watching Tour in the Afternoon we are launching our Scenic Sunset Cruise! Maybe you have seen the whales already and still want to get out on the bay and soak in those beautiful winter Sunsets Hervey Bay has to offer at a more affordable price. This tour is for you. 1.5hrs of relaxing music, licenced bar and 360 degree Sunset views cruising past local Islands and landmarks like the Urangan Pier. Usually these tours are accompanied with food platters but due to COVID-19 health guidelines we decided not to add this option and reduce our price to reflect that, Individual food sales are still available at the Krill Bar on board and we encourage you to bring your own snacks if you wish but because of COVID-19 we strongly advise against sharing with anyone else on board. Adults - $55 Child - $35 --------------------------------------------------------------------- To break down the changes COVID-19 has brought to our operations. 1. Food - We can no longer offer our buffet style breakfast/morning tea. Individual food sales are still available via the Krill Bar and Tea,Coffee, Juice and light refreshments are still complimentary but will be served to you indivually by our crew. we also encourage you to bring your own snacks but because of COVID-19 we strongly advise against sharing with anyone else on board. Our only other option was prepackaged foods to give to every guest on board and being a marine based ECO tour business we did not feel comfortable to make that change to pre packaged foods, creating unnecessary waste 2. Courtesy Bus - Our courtesy bus is licenced for 11 passengers due to social distancing restrictions or bus capacity is now only 4 passengers which is not viable or time effecient for us to run the bus. 3. Boat Capacity - We have measured QuickCat II and run through many different scenarios including weather/rain events and we have come up with a reduced capacity of 40 to allow sufficient room for social distancing, QuickCat II is surveyed for 100 passengers so we have more than halved our capacity. With QuickCat IIs large spacious decks and the multiple pathways around the vessel therell be sure to be enough space for everyone. 4. Whale Swims - In previous years we have had Snorkelling gear on board to lend out for our swims, because of COVID-19 and our guests best interest we are no longer lending this gear, the only equipment we offer is the mandatory Floataion life vests (PFD) If you travel with us and would like to try for a whale swim please note that you MUST bring you own Mask/snorkel, swimwear and towel. We have reduced our price for the whale swim to compensate for those that have to purchase their own gear. 5. Cleaning - Long before COVID-19 began Hervey Bay Whale Watch took pride in ensuring Health and Safety was our number one priority. You can still expect our same attention to detail while complying to the new Queensland Health Guidelines surrounding COVID-19. Regular cleaning of the office and vessel will be undertaken as well as multiple hand cleaning stations around the vessel and office. All of this is on our website in much greater detail or if you have any other questions please dont hesitate to ask. www.herveybaywhalewatch.com.au

23.01.2022 If it's the babies that you want to see this year we recommend travelling a little later in the season. Anytime after September we usually expect an increase in... mothers and calves entering Hervey Bay. This is a very special time for them to rest up and put some weight on before their incredible swim back to the Antarctic, while they are here they are learning all of their life skills and it's very cute (and funny) watching them learn things like breaching and pec slapping, being new to it all they can be a little un-cordinated You can find our tour details here at www.herveybaywhalewatch.com.au We hope to see you onboard Quickcat II this season!

23.01.2022 How exciting! It's back :)

22.01.2022 These guys are regulars just outside your door! We also have the Ospreys 50 metres from 545 Esplanade in the last tree as you stroll towards the Pier. I think they have chics as their fishing trips have increased and there is a lot of activity.

21.01.2022 We are having some stunning Queensland Winter weather, beautiful sunny days and cool evenings. The Bay is crystal clear with sparkling waters and miles of sandy beaches. The whales are here in great numbers and we had fantastic feedback from our guests. We are looking forward to welcoming you for your mini break or Whale adventure. See you soon :)

Home to over 100 freshwater lakes, unique wildlife, rich culture and the only place in the world where ancient rainforests grow out of the sand. Traditional owners of the land, the Butchulla people know #FraserIsland as Kgari - which translates to paradise. Lake McKenzie, (or Boorangoora) is known as the jewel of Kgari, the waters of wisdom.
