25.01.2022 Many Australians will remember the ‘Sid the Seagull’ campaign from the 1980s which launched the ‘Slip, Slop, Slap’ message. Some things have changed since then but our sun is still the same. In Australia, data shows that people aged 25-44 are the most likely to get sunburnt outside at peak times and are the group least likely to use shade when it's available. So as National Skin Cancer Action Week comes to an end we remind you of the importance of staying SunSmart. By using sun protection and preventing sunburn and skin damage you are reducing your risk of skin cancer including potentially deadly melanoma. So remember to Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide.

25.01.2022 We remember them Today is Remembrance Day when we traditionally observe a minute’s silence at 11am if our work allows. We do this in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. We remember particularly the nurses, doctors, orderlies, allied and mental health professionals who have served our country, including many among the more than 100,000 Australian service personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left g...row old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them." See more

16.01.2022 Elective surgery restrictions will begin lifting across metropolitan Melbourne from 28th September. This is wonderful news for the thousands of Victorians who’ve had much-needed surgery put on hold. At Ringwood Private Hospital, we are working closely with our surgeons to start reducing this backlog of urgent surgeries. Our hospital has a range of safety and screening protocols in place to protect our patients and staff, along with strict social distancing. We are prepared and ready to care.

10.01.2022 October, Australia’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, provides an opportunity for us all to focus on breast cancer and its impact on those affected by the disease in our community. Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among Australian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer). Survival rates continue to improve in Australia with 89 out of every 100 women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer now surviving five or more years beyond diagnosis. 44 Victorian women are diag...nosed with breast cancer every day, but Australia leads the world in early stage breast cancer survival rates which are now 91% up from 74% twenty years ago. Take the time this month to find out what you need to know about breast awareness and share this important information with your family, friends and colleagues. For more information regarding Ringwood Private Hospitals "Rapid access Breast Clinic" Please call our clinic on 1800 774 774.

09.01.2022 Today is International Day of The Older person and the staff at Ringwood Private Hospital chose to celebrate this with their patients and community to demonstrate our respect and commitment to care for our older society. We acknowledge that 2020 has been an extremely challenging year for our older generation who have faced so many adversities with grace and dignity. Today we provided our patients with a special morning tea and have developed an entertainment booklet to help our patients pass the time in hospital. Our aim was to demonstrate our commitment to excellent care for all our patients and to pay our respects to our older generation. We have so much to appreciate and learn from our older population.
