25.01.2022 "And that, my friends, is a wrap!", said Jodie today - feeling both exhausted and exhilarated! But how do you thank someone who has dedicated many hours to give such a perfect gift? We are very much indebted to Jodie, whose amazing talent has allowed our Old Chapel Tea Rooms of such historical significance to truly shine. Everyone at Aurora is so very grateful for this absolute masterpiece that so wonderfully captures our 1830s era. We are so fortunate to share this enjoyment with all in our community - it is brilliant! Xx Jodie Gaul Art

24.01.2022 A farmer with his wife and child off to chapel, a spotted quoll, a couple of dubious pick pockets, a little bird watches from the window ledge, our chicken now has a rooster friend, a forest is beginning, and the little girl has flowers in her basket - so many gorgeous characters added to our amazing mural :) Jodie Gaul Art

22.01.2022 Another very proud man, congratulations Josh on completing your beautiful longstitch! Hours and hours of careful stitching to create this masterpiece - well done Josh, fantastic!

20.01.2022 Another little update - looking wonderful! Jodie Gaul Art

17.01.2022 All these beautiful little characters, each with their own story - and what stories could they tell? Jodie Gaul Art

17.01.2022 "NAIDOC Week - Always was, always will be"... In acknowledging our country's Aboriginal history and culture, Trainees today enjoyed an afternoon of creating Aboriginal Dot Art. Trainees researched designs and colours, and carefully created some truly beautiful work. Happy weekend everyone!

16.01.2022 Following on from Presentation Day last week, we enjoyed a few more projects from some students who were absent at the time. These displays were really interesting, and so well researched - thank you so much for your excellent presentations.

14.01.2022 Everybody needs some PUPPY THERAPY time! But, we're not quite sure who had the better time today - the trainees or the staff! Thank you staffer Dagmara for bringing in four delightful bundles of fluff for us all to enjoy :)

14.01.2022 Another wonderful update for everyone to enjoy :) Isn't this absolutely beautiful! Jodie Gaul Art

08.01.2022 Remembrance Day ... at the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, we remembered the end of World War 1. The Flanders Poppy - red representing the blood of those who lost their lives, black representing the mourning for those who did not return home, green for grass and crops growing in future prosperity after the war... we are so fortunate to celebrate the wonderful freedoms we enjoy today due to those many sacrifices. Today we also celebrated Presentation Day, where students and their tutors provide an insight into their research and learning over the past year. The presentations were brilliant, so much work and detail, and fantastic entertainment. Congratulations everyone for such outstanding achievements in your work.

04.01.2022 It was with the greatest honour, that Managing Director Joy Cairns OAM presented Life Membership to Vim Craven yesterday at the Association's Annual General Meeting. Vim has been a tireless volunteer for many years, supporting students in The Aurora Learning Centre, within the general program, assisting at fund-raising events, and as Secretary of the Association. Sadly for us, Vim is moving to Wynyard in coming months, but she has promised to stay in touch and visit us often - her student Dallas was very happy to present her with beautiful flowers. Thank you Vim, for your genuine care for the welfare of our clients and families, and for your wonderful commitment and dedication to Aurora. We sincerely wish you all the best in your new adventures.

04.01.2022 We had the most amazing music session today, with the very talented David Elliston, who performed Bush Music, and brought along a selection of his hand made bush instruments for everyone to try - washboards and thimbles, bottle caps on wood, a mandolin, and his wonderful accordion :) Trainees (and staff) thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon! Thanks so much for sharing your fantastic music, David :)

03.01.2022 Welcome to Term 4 everyone :) and what better way to get that revitalisation back than an art session at beautiful Tolosa Park this afternoon - just before the rain set in!
