06.01.2022 Victoria Home Builder Grant Applications Now Open. Update Released - 11th August, 2020 Online applications are now open for the Australian Governments Home Builder Grant. Applications must be lodged by no later than 31 December 2020.... Information about eligibility criteria, and the supporting documents you will need to upload with your application, is available on our Home Builder Grant guidelines webpage. All applicants for the Home Builder Grant in Victoria now have 6 months to commence construction from when the eligible Home Builder contract is signed. This is as a result of the Commissioner of State Revenue exercising his discretion to extend the timeframe for commencement of construction in light of the introduction of Stage 3 and 4 restrictions in Victoria. The Commissioner does not have the discretion to grant any extension beyond this. You can lodge your application in a multi-step process with the initial lodgement being after an eligible Home Builder contract has been entered into. Once construction has commenced and the payment eligibility requirement milestones have been met, any additional supporting documentation must be lodged via the online portal. Once you have lodged your complete application, we will process it and advise you of the outcome within 15 business days. The grant will be paid into your nominated account, generally within 5 days of notifying you that your application was successful. https://www.firsthome.gov.au/homebuilder/vic/
