22.01.2022 Thought I had better show some progress on the carriages that I am restoring. Finished 2 out of 3 including sorting out the brakes which kept me at it for a while.

20.01.2022 Please watch out as I have been hacked.

19.01.2022 One for the Barmera Centenary Crew. 56 Years ago today, on November 23rd, 1964, Donald Campbell's Bluebird K7 set a new Australian Water Speed Record of 216 mph... (347 kmph) on Lake Bonney. Bad weather foiled further attempts to break the World Water Speed Record at Barmera and so the crew shifted to Lake Dumbleyung in W.A. where the record was broken on December 31st, 1964. This film was taken from 'The World Water Speed Record Attempt' by W.D. & H.O. Wills but the original soundtrack had narration over the top. So I've matched other recordings of the K7 into this film. I believe the sound I've used here is a recording from the return run back to Barmera as it matches almost seamlessly to the film as opposed to the first run towards the North end of the Lake. You can also see the old Bonneyline Drive-in Theatre Screen in the background of both runs. It was only two years old at the time of filming. Christine Webster Dorothy Dunk Glenys Badger

16.01.2022 It was great coming across this article back in 1980. Foreground Peter Nearmy who still volunteers on the PS Marion in the Engineering role with the late and gr...eat John Norris. In the background is John Wolverson who's son, Eric has volunteered on the PS Marion from a child and is now a very well respected Engineer on the Marion. Great memories! #murrayriver #mannumdock #riverhistory #rivercruise #seesouthaustralia Murray River, Lakes & Coorong See more

10.01.2022 The museum will not be open this weekend due to the lockdown. In the meantime we have another story about the last Milang branch driver, Arthur Creeper. Last mo...nth we had a visitor who was a regular passenger on the railcar. Usually he was the only passenger but on one occasion there was an attractive young lady making the trip. Naturally he started a conversation with her but, to his surprise, he was joined by Arthur who had put a brick on the controls so that the railcar was driving itself to Strathalbyn. See more

09.01.2022 Bagnalll 3023 of 1952 Isaac at Woody Bay. The loco is leaving the railway at the end of the year as the contract there finishes. The owner will be offering the locomotive for sale. Anybody interested please drop me a message or give me a call.

05.01.2022 Many people assume that the Milang station has been in its present location since the railway closed in 1970. That is not so. After closure the track was remove...d, the platform was demolished and the station building was sold to a local farmer for use as an outbuilding. However he was unable to get council approval for its use for accommodation so it sat in two local paddocks for twenty years. Then, on 18th May 1991, it was moved on a truck back to its previous location where the volunteers had built new foundations. In one of the attached photos you can see what is now the cafeteria car in the background; its arrival was the first step in the creation of the Milang Railway Museum. See more

05.01.2022 In this video, courtesy of our friends at Valve Gear Productions, you will enjoy a tour around the island nation of New Zealand in the South Pacific, exploring the nation's bustling Miniature Railway community. Keep an eye out for part two in this series coming later this fall.
