23.01.2022 AFX 2020 Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 Annual Field Exercise will be different to previous years. It will involve day-based activities only, with cadet...s returning home at the conclusion of each day. This is an exciting opportunity for cadets to return to a variety of practical Army Cadet activities. A diverse schedule has been planned which includes a variety of team and leadership activities, military skills, extension programs, weapons training, and a live fire shoot. For planning and logistic reasons Cadets (if they haven't already) need to inform their Unit Staff if they are planning on attending AFX ASAP. A Consent Form will be given to the cadet to be signed by the parent/guardian, or by the cadet if they are 18 or over. If you have any questions please contact your unit staff

22.01.2022 Our next Cadet that we will profile is our CDTRSM Abi Davis I’m Abi Davis and I joined cadets as I was previously hoping to move onto a career within the ADF. ... I am currently the Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major for Tasmania Battalion. The biggest highlight of my cadet career would be the Adventure Training Award in 2018. I went to Majura Military Training Area in Canberra with 5 other cadets from Tasmania and spent a week participating in activities that pushed me both mentally and physically. Another highlight would be my warrant officer course in South Queensland in early 2019. It was a unique experience that showed me more about myself and and the differences in how the organisation works around the nation. I am currently studying Paramedicine at UTAS and will graduate in early 2022. I also work two jobs in my free time. When I finish my degree I am hoping to practice as a paramedic either within Australia or internationally, wherever it takes me! My advice to any Cadet would be to accept any opportunity that is given to you and apply yourself in every aspect of that. Also be open minded to constructive criticism as this will shape you both as a leader and a person.

03.01.2022 In 2006 Adam Barnett joined the AAC program as a cadet. In 2014 he was welcomed back into a staff role as a Volunteer Adult (DAH) at 67 ACU Youngtown. CAPT(AAC...) Barnett completed all required ALDC modules between 2017 and 2019. He has just recently been posted to the role of Adjutant at HQ AAC TAS BN. Throughout his career in the AAC, CAPT(AAC) Barnett has shown his commitment by providing direct support to cadets and staff in various positions at numerous Unit, Coy & BN Activities. He is an accredited trainer in MRUAS and is the regional SME for the training and implementation of the V5 Activities module for the region. CAPT(AAC) Barnett has always displayed the AAC values of courage, initiative, respect, and teamwork throughout his cadet career, and in his interactions with ADF, ACS, Cadets, and our external stakeholders. These values have never been more evident in the current environment. During the suspension of cadet activities in March of this year, he was instrumental in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of online components of the Cadet Development Continuum. Recently he has taken the lead in the tasks necessary for the V5 Activity module to be utilised for our 2020 AFX. CAPT(AAC) Barnett was presented with a National Assistant Commander Award for his achievements and dedication to our Corps. Well done Adam, you are a credit to the AAC.

01.01.2022 AFX Announcement Team Tassie will be conducting its AFX over the period Wednesday 30 September to Sunday 4 October 2020. Due to COVID-19 restrictions this years... activity will be different to previous years. It will involve day based activities with Cadets returning home at the end of each day. There will be a separate program for Northern and Southern based Cadets. By now Cadets should have received a letter from your units giving further details of the planned activity. We need to know if you will be attending AFX, please inform your unit staff and they will give you a consent form to return. It is important that this consent form is returned straight away so that the staff can make plans for busses and catering. If you have any questions please ask your unit staff who will be happy to help.
