25.01.2022 Upper Coomera | Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy over two break and enters of the same chemist at Upper Coomera this week. In the early hours of September 15 and 16 the glass front doors of a Brygon Drive chemist were allegedly smashed to gain entry and a quantity of prescription drugs were stolen. A piece of wood was allegedly used on one occasion and a brick on the other to gain entry.... Police investigations led them to execute a search warrant on an Upper Coomera house where the teenager was located. A 17-year-old from Upper Coomera has been charged with two counts of enter premises and one count of possess utensil.



25.01.2022 Cairns | Two teenage boys have been charged with serious offences after an elderly woman was injured during an alleged bag snatch at Westcourt this morning. It will be alleged a 63-year-old woman was walking to her vehicle in a shopping centre carpark on Mulgrave Road when she was approached from behind by two males who attempted to take her handbag. A struggled ensued between the woman and the boys who then allegedly pushed her into a concrete pole before she fell to the gro...und. The pair then fled with the bag towards Gatton Street. Police attended the scene a short time later. The woman was transported to Cairns Hospital suffering a fractured hip. Ongoing investigations by officers led to the discovery of the victims phone discarded at Manunda. Police have since located and arrested a 13-year-old Woree boy and a 17-year-old Manunda boy. They have both been charged with grievous bodily harm and robbery/in company/used personal violence and are due to face court at a later date.

25.01.2022 Cairns | Detectives have charged a 17-year-old White Rock boy following investigations into an attempted armed robbery on Cannon Street at around 11pm on November 21 (Saturday). It will be alleged the teenager approached a taxi and threatened the male driver with a hammer, demanding cash. The driver was able to drive away. The boy was located at a nearby address along with the hammer.... The teenager was charged with attempted armed robbery, he is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Children’s Court this month.

25.01.2022 Iveragh | An 18-year-old Burrum River woman is in a critical condition following a single vehicle traffic crash at Iveragh on November 21. Preliminary investigations indicate around 10:25am a Nissan wagon was travelling north along the Bruce Highway when it veered across onto the wrong side of the road before losing control and rolling several times. The woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to Gladstone Base Hospital before being airlifted to the Royal B...risbane and Women’s Hospital. The 18-year-old female driver of the wagon was transported to hospital with minor injuries. Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or any motorists with dashcam travelling on the Bruce Highway at Iveragh between 10 and 10.30am on November 21, to contact police. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.



24.01.2022 Tablelands | A 33-year-old Manoora woman will appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court on December 7 following an incident in Mareeba on Sunday morning (November 22). The woman was at an address on Ward Street at about 1.45am when she was asked to leave by the occupier. It will be alleged that she then called Triple Zero (000) to report that she had been assaulted and needed police to drive her to Cairns.... On arrival at the address, police allegedly discovered that the woman had not been assaulted and when police started loading the woman’s bags into the police vehicle, she allegedly started yelling and swearing at the residents of the house she had been evicted from. The woman was warned several times in relation to her language and was charged with commit public nuisance and improper use of emergency call service.

24.01.2022 Kepnock | A man has died following a traffic crash at Kepnock just before 5pm yesterday. Early investigations indicate the two vehicles, travelling in opposite directions, collided on Walker Street. One driver, a 78-year-old man, had no pulse and was given first aid by an off duty nurse until ambulance officers could transport him to Bundaberg Base Hospital.... The man could not be revived. The 32-year-old woman driving the other vehicle was not injured. Police investigations will consider whether the man suffered a medical episode leading up to the crash.

23.01.2022 Update | Police have charged a 29-year-old man following the alleged unlawful use of a motor vehicle and discharging a firearm in Shailer Park. Around 9pm on September 12, police attempted to intercept a stolen vehicle in the Beenleigh area. The driver allegedly failed to stop. A short time later, police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device, but the driver sped away.... On Plantain Road, Shailer Park it is alleged while driving towards police the driver shot at police. Minutes later, the vehicle was located abandoned on Thistlerow Street. Police located the man on the roof of a house, and he was taken into custody. A 29-year-old man from Mount Warren Park has been charged with one count each of driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence (repeat offender), receiving tainted property, evasion offence, unlawful use of motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle with prior conviction, acts intended to resist/prevent lawful arrest/detention, dangerous conduct with weapon and unlawful possession of weapons, two counts of possess a dangerous drug and four counts of trespass. 23.01.2022 Gracemere | Police are investigating the theft of three rifles from a Gracemere address yesterday. Some time between 6am and 3.30pm offenders have gained access to a gun safe at the house. The guns are described as a Marlin model 1895GBL lever action 45.70 calibre rifle, a Tikka model T3X bolt action .223 calibre rifle with a steel barrel and a Tikka model T3X bolt action 25.06 calibre rifle also with a steel barrel.... Anyone with vision or further information is urged to contact police.

23.01.2022 Cairns | Detectives have charged a 23-year-old Mooroobool man following investigations into the alleged serious assault of two men in Cairns CBD on November 22. The man allegedly approached two men on the corner of Lake and Shields Street at around 2.30am and without warning, punched a 20-year-old local man in the face causing him to fall to the ground, rendering him unconscious. It is further alleged that when his friend went to his aid, he was also punched in the face by th...e 23-year-old. Police attended and took the 23-year-old man into custody on Spence Street. Security guards and Street Chaplains rendered first aid to the unconscious man until the arrival of emergency services. The 20-year-old man was treated for a fractured skull. The 22-year-old man was treated for facial injuries. It is believed the men had never met before and were known only by a mutual association. The 23-year-old man has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm in a public place whilst adversely affected. He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on December 17.

22.01.2022 Queensland | Police have charged a man travelling from Victoria for allegedly providing false information on his Queensland border declaration following investigations into a border breach last month. On August 31, police will allege the 48-year-old Queensland man travelled from Victoria (Tullamarine Airport) to Brisbane Airport providing false information on his Queensland border declaration. Upon arrival at the Brisbane Airport, the man was immediately placed into hotel qua...rantine, as per current border restrictions for Queensland residents returning home within 14 days of being in a COVID-19 hotspot. Investigations have revealed as well as failing to comply with the COVID-19 Border Direction, the man allegedly breached quarantine in Victoria. He was arrested last night after completing mandatory hotel quarantine. The man has been charged with one count of providing false or misleading documents Section 364 of the Public Health Act (maximum penalty 100 penalty units or $13,345) is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 1. 22.01.2022 Tablelands | Police are investigating a break and enter to a Memorial Drive school between 6pm Friday night and 7am Saturday morning. Initial investigation suggests a cement object was used to smash a glass door to the tuckshop building. Entry was gained to the building however no property was stolen. Anyone with any information are encouraged to contact police and quote QP2002460583.... A 15-year-old local girl and a 16-year-old local boy will be dealt with according to the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992 after they were allegedly located inside a classroom of an Atherton school at about 11.30am Saturday morning. With the school holidays fast approaching, members of the community are urged to report any incidents of suspicious behaviour, trespassing and wilful damage of schools immediately, please don’t attempt to intervene

21.01.2022 Maroochydore | Two people have been charged after a woman was allegedly assaulted during a break-in at Maroochydore this morning. It will be alleged that at around 9.20am a 42-year-old woman was outside her Turner Street residence at the clothes line when she heard noises coming from within the home. As she went inside the woman saw another female walking out of the house carrying a number of items including jewellery from her bedroom.... The woman then chased the female and managed to grab hold of her, calling for help. A struggle then ensued during which the 42-year-old was allegedly kicked, punched and bitten by the female as she tried to escape. A 68-year-old woman came to the aid of the victim while a man also approached and attempted to assist the alleged female thief by pulling her free and taking the jewellery. The man allegedly made several threats towards the 68-year-old woman who then phoned police. Officers arrived a short time later and a man and woman were arrested. Police will allege the pair are known to each other. The 42-year-old woman sustained numerous abrasions and bite marks however was not seriously injured. A 47-year-old Pacific Paradise woman a 45-year-old Alexandra Headland man have both been charged with one count each of attempted robbery threatening violence, assault occasioning bodily harm whilst in company, enter dwelling with intent and serious assault of a person over 20. They are due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow (September 17).



21.01.2022 Brinsmead | A man has died following a single-vehicle traffic crash in Brinsmead overnight. Around 12.15am, the driver of a white Toyota Landcruiser travelling on Reservoir Road lost control of the vehicle which then left the road and crashed into a ditch. The male driver was declared deceased at the scene.... The female passenger was transported to Cairns Hospital with minor injuries. Forensic Crash Unit is investigating. Anyone travelling in the vicinity around midnight last night who has dashcam footage is urged to contact police.

21.01.2022 Brisbane | A Brisbane man and woman have been charged in relation to unlawful prostitution following the closure of a joint agency operation targeting an alleged syndicate profiting from illegal prostitution activities. A 65-year-old man and 57-year-old woman were arrested in Brisbane on November 29 following a two-year operation into illegal prostitution activities in Mackay, Rockhampton, Toowoomba and Brisbane. Both were charged with four counts of carrying on the business ...of unlawful prostitution and are due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 18. Police will allege the pair were running an illegal prostitution syndicate operating from motels. As part of the operation police seized in excess of $36,000. A total of 25 people were charged with offences relating to the provision of unlawful prostitution. The operation involved detectives from the Crime and Intelligence Command’s Prostitution Enforcement Taskforce and Major and Organised Crime Squad Regional with assistance from AFP and the Australian Border Force. Detective Acting Inspector Brad Phelps from the Drug and Serious Crime Group said the investigation had resulted in senior members of the syndicate being apprehended. This was a significant outcome and we remain committed to working with agency partners to target those operating outside the law. Illegal operators not only put the health and safety of their workers and customers at risk, they are profiting from illegal activity and we will continue to hold them to account, Detective Acting Inspector Phelps said.

21.01.2022 Cardwell | Police have charged a local man after a traffic intercept at Cardwell on Wednesday afternoon (September 16). It will be alleged that the man was intercepted on Toohey Street at about 1.30pm and returned a reading of 0.251 per cent BAC. The 40-year-old man is expected to appear in the Tully Magistrates Court on November 12, charged with drink driving.

21.01.2022 Bahrs Scrub | Police are seeking urgent community assistance to help locate a 63-year-old woman missing from Bahrs Scrub, Logan. Angela Rarere (pictured) was last seen leaving an address on New Horizon Avenue, Bahrs Scrub at 3am this morning (September 14) and has not been heard from since. Police hold serious concerns for her welfare as her behaviour is out of character.... Angela is described as Pacific Islander, 164cm tall, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark green hooded jumper. Angela is believed to be travelling in a silver/grey Toyota Tarago 2001 bearing QLD registration 833 IET (similar vehicle pictured).

20.01.2022 Surfers Paradise | Police have charged a 31-year-old man after a 21-year-old man fell in Surfers Paradise overnight. Around 7.15pm police were called to a disturbance at a premises on Cavill Avenue involving the injured man and three other males aged 15, 31 and 26-years-old. All of the men are known to each other.... During the altercation the 21-year-old man was allegedly being assaulted when he ran from the males and attempted to flee over a balcony, onto an awning, when he fell. The man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with rib and back injuries. Investigations are ongoing.

20.01.2022 Cairns | Detectives investigating a brazen robbery at Parramatta Park earlier this month have charged a second teenage boy. Police will allege that on the afternoon of September 5, two 15-year-old boys were fishing at Smiths Creek at around 2.30pm when they were approached by three youths who made threats toward them. The youths were not known to the two boys. One of the boys was forced to hand over his phone before being directed to accompany the youths to a nearby fuel stat...ion and withdraw money from an ATM. The boy complied with the demands and the trio then fled with his phone and money. He was not assaulted or physically injured as a result of the ordeal. Cairns Property Crime Squad officers executed a search warrant at a Mooroobool address just after 6pm yesterday, locating and arresting a 15-year-old boy. He was subsequently charged with two counts of robbery whilst in company and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Childrens Court. The arrest follows that of another 15-year-old Edmonton boy who was charged on Sunday in relation to the same incident. Investigations are continuing.

20.01.2022 Nambour | This week, the demolition of the old Nambour Police station got underway. The station was constructed in the early 1960s and included three buildings containing offices, holding cells, property storage and fingerprint facilities. The station incorporated general duties police, traffic branch, forensic crash unit, criminal investigation branch and child protection and investigation unit.... Policing needs outgrew the facility by 2006, and have been operating out of a temporary building since that time, meaning that the new police station is eagerly anticipated. The project requires the demolition of all three of the buildings to accommodate the new station. As a result, parking is limited for a period of time. Members of the public are asked to be mindful of the limited parking spaces, and allow extra time when attending the police station. The new station is hoped to maximise use of the space and increase policing efficiency. Police are eager to see the new station evolve. Watch this space!

20.01.2022 Woody Point | Emergency services responded to reports of a house fire on King Street at 13:00. On arrival, the house was fully engulfed in flames. It was unknown at the time if any occupants were still in the property. Two teenagers and a fire fighter were treated for smoke inhalation, both teenagers were transported to Redcliffe Hospital for observation, but were later released. ... At 13:45, a crime scene was setup with King Street blocked between Maine Road and Victoria Avenue. Unknown at this stage what caused the fire.

19.01.2022 Yamba | A man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash 5km south of Yamba last night. Preliminary investigations indicate at 10.30pm a 4WD was headed north on the Bruce Highway when it has left the road and rolled. The driver and sole occupant, a 57-year-old Rockhampton man, died at the scene.... Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

19.01.2022 Central Queensland | Central Queensland detectives have dismantled a drug trafficking syndicate operating within Mackay and the Whitsundays extending down to South East Queensland. Between November 25 and 27 six search warrants were executed across the region as part of Operation Sierra NIB, successfully interrupting supply of cocaine, methylamphetamine and cannabis. Weapons, steroids, cash, luxury vehicles and hydroponic equipment were also located during the raids.... Fifteen grams of methylamphetamine was found at a North Mackay address along with an electric conductive device and ammunition. More than 11 grams of methylamphetamine and 6.9 grams of cocaine was located at a Cannonvale address along with hydroponic equipment and seven cannabis plants. Fourteen firearms, ammunition and hydroponic equipment were located at a Palmyra address. Six people have been charged with various drug related offences including trafficking in dangerous drugs and possessing dangerous drugs. A further two were charged with minor drug offences. They are scheduled to appear in the Mackay and Proserpine Magistrates courts between today (November 30) and February next year. Anyone with vision or further information about drug supply in the area is urged to contact police.

18.01.2022 Springsure | A woman died in a traffic crash 40km west of Springsure late this afternoon. Around 6.30pm, a Toyota Prado was travelling on Dawson Development Road when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled several times. The female passenger was declared deceased at the scene.... The female driver was transported to Springsure Hospital then flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition. Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

18.01.2022 Gold Coast | Detectives have charged three men and a woman after a three-month police operation targeting the alleged distribution of methylamphetamine on the Gold Coast. Operation Sierra Moonstone began on June 24, 2020 and targeted the supply and trafficking of illegal drugs with a focus on methylamphetamine and GHB. The operation culminated in the arrest around 7.10pm last night of three men in truck at Rocklea where it is alleged police located just over one kilogram of ...methylamphetamine and over $10,000 in cash in their possession. Around 9.15pm last night police also arrested a woman at a business premises at Broadbeach where she was allegedly found with 75 grams of methylamphetamine crystals. A 26-year-old Bilinga man has been charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug, three counts of possessing property suspected of being proceeds/used in the commission of a drug offence and one count of possess utensil. A 26-year-old Annerley man has been charged with two counts of possession of a dangerous drug and one count each of possessing property suspected of being proceeds/used in the commission of a drug offence and possess utensil. A 25-year-old Mount Gravatt man has been charged with one count each of possession of a dangerous drug, possessing property suspected of being proceeds/used in the commission of a drug offence and one count of possess utensil. The three men are expected to appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court today. A 44-year-old Broadbeach woman has been charged with two counts of trafficking and one count each of counts of possession of a dangerous drug and one count each of possessing anything used in the commission of a crime and possess utensil. She is due to face the Southport Magistrates Court today. Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) Detective Inspector Chris Ahearn said police will relentlessly target and arrest those people involved in the distribution and trafficking of illegal drugs in our community. We will continue to dismantle these organised and high-end crime groups who ply their trade in our community with dangerous and highly addicted drugs like ICE, said Detective Inspector Ahearn.

18.01.2022 Ormeau | Police responded to reports of a number of vehicles hooning along Burnside Road at Ormeau at about 1.15am this morning. Upon arrival, police attempted to intercept one of the vehicles however it drove off at high speed. Police lost sight of the vehicle and located it, and a second vehicle, a short time later, crashed into a creek bed.... Five people were removed from the vehicles. One person was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition and another four were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for minor injuries. Forensic Crash Unit are currently investigating with oversight from the Ethical Standards Command.

15.01.2022 Upper Caboolture | Submission Anybody know these couple of the delights. My granddaughters were riding horses in sheep station Creek (Phelps rd entrance) & hubby heard motorbikes &went to try & stop them. They wouldnt listen when asked them not to ride because they might scare the horses & young kids were riding. The young guy got irate when hubby was taking pics of them & was punching hubby while his GF hit him in the head several times with her helmet. 15.01.2022 Cairns | A 16-year-old boy has been charged after he allegedly stole a mobile from a female tourist on Shields Street at around 7.45pm yesterday (December 1). The teenager allegedly approached the woman who was seated with a friend outside a Shields Street restaurant. He allegedly stole the woman’s phone after she denied his repeated requests for money. The teenager allegedly struck the victim on the neck and shoulder after she stood up and asked for her phone back.... The victim and her friend followed the teenager requesting the phone back. The youth allegedly demanded money in exchange for her phone. He returned the phone and fled with money given to him by the victim. A clear description of the offender was conveyed to police. With the assistance of the Cairns City Safe camera’s, officers located the male a short time later on Shields Street. The teenager was charged with robbery and will appear before the Cairns Children’s Court this month.

14.01.2022 Edmonton | A 45-year-old Mount Sheridan woman has died following a multi-vehicle crash south of Cairns this morning. Just before 8am, a silver Toyota sedan was travelling south on the Bruce Highway at Edmonton. Preliminary information suggests the car veered into the path of an oncoming semi-trailer travelling in the opposite direction. A car which was travelling behind the silver Toyota also collided into the car.... The driver and sole occupant of the silver Toyota died at the scene. The truck driver, a 46-year-old man, and driver of the other car, a 72-year-old man, were not physically injured. Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing investigations.

14.01.2022 Crestmead | Police are seeking assistance in relation to an alleged dangerous driving incident in Crestmead earlier today. Initial inquires indicate at 10.30am a blue Holden utility was travelling along Bumstead Road when a white Holden utility has tailgated and swerved at the blue vehicle. The blue utility has turned left onto Chambers Flat Road and was followed by the white vehicle which continued to attempt to force the blue utility off the road for a considerable distance.... A physical altercation between the drivers took place when the vehicles stopped at the intersection of Chambers Flat Road and Park Ridge Road. The driver of the blue utility was able to drive away and contact police. The drivers of the vehicles are known to each other. Any members of the public who witnessed this incident or may have dashcam footage are urged to contact police to assist with their investigations.

14.01.2022 Little Mountain | Three people have been charged following an armed robbery at Little Mountain last month. The trio attended a Ridgewood Road address around 7pm on Saturday, August 15 where it will be alleged a 23-year-old man was assaulted out the front of the residence. The group then fled in his Subaru Impreza.... The Wurtulla man was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. His car later located at a Beerwah address. A 31-year-old man was charged on August 16 with robbery in company, assault occasioning bodily harm, stealing of a vehicle, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, possess utensils or pipes and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs. He is due to appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 7. A 28-year-old man and 26-year-old woman have both been charged with armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and stealing of a vehicle. They are expected to front the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today. Investigations are continuing.

14.01.2022 Wacol | Detectives from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit have today charged a man in relation to the death of a prisoner at the Wolston Correctional Centre last month. On Tuesday, November 10, a 37-year-old prisoner was assaulted at the Wolston Correctional Centre. The man was transported to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on November 20. Investigators have today issued a Notice to Appear (NTA) to a 26-year-old man from Wolston Correctional Centre with ...one count of unlawful striking causing death. The man will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 19.

13.01.2022 Townsville | Four people have been arrested in Townsville including one man who has been charged with more than a hundred child sex offences following the closure of Operation Sierra Phonology. Detectives from the Townsville Child Protection Investigation Unit will allege a 39-year-old man who was employed as a child care worker was indecently assaulting children and recording the offences. It is also alleged he took images of his victims and distributed them over a number of... years. He has been charged with 104 offences including multiple counts of rape, indecent treatment, bestiality, making and distributing child exploitation material and supplying dangerous drugs. He is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on September 29. Police are appealing for anyone else who may have concerns they or their children have been in company of the offender to come forward. As part of the Operation a 33-year-old West End man was also charged in July with 15 offences including six counts of distributing child exploitation material as well as possessing child exploitation material, use carriage service to access child abuse material, producing and possessing dangerous drugs and possessing tainted property. A 38-year-old woman appeared in Townsville Magistrates Court on September 8 in relation to three offences of possessing child exploitation material, distributing child exploitation material and burglary. A 49-year-old woman was cautioned on three counts of bestiality. Investigations are continuing.

13.01.2022 Redbank Plains | Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a man who witnessed and provided first aid assistance, following the wounding of a 14-year-old boy in Redbank Plains on Tuesday (September 15). Around 4.30pm the boy was exercising with a group of friends at the local recreational reserve on Willow Road. A 16-year-old boy, known to the group, approached and a confrontation occurred during which time the 14-year-old boy sustained a single stab wound to ...his bicep. He sustained a minor laceration. The man, who is believed to have witnessed the incident and applied first aid to the injured boy, was wearing a high vis shirt. He is understood to have then left in a silver sedan. The man, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police (details below). The 16-year-old boy has been charged with acts intending to cause grievous bodily harm and will appear in the Childrens Court.

13.01.2022 Rockhampton | Police are investigating a fire at a Rockhampton education facility overnight. Initial investigations indicates two men forced entry into the school’s library shortly after 9 pm and ransacked the reception area. They then fled the scene around 9.45 pm.... At around 9.50 pm, security services called emergency services to the Campbell Street school when they observed the building on fire. The fire is being treated as suspicious and investigations are continuing. Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to contact police.

13.01.2022 Milton | Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a missing 23-year-old man from Milton. Chen Bian (pictured) was last seen at a Railway Terrace unit around 11pm on Thursday night. Police and family hold concern for the Brisbane man, as his behaviour is out of character.... Chen is Asian, around 170cm tall, of a slim build, with dark hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black clothing and a backpack when leaving the address. Anyone with any information about his whereabouts is urged to contact police.

13.01.2022 Townsville | Three people have died in a four-vehicle traffic crash at Mount Surround, south of Townsville this afternoon. Around 12.30pm, a Ford Falcon was travelling south on the Bruce Highway when it collided with a Mitsubishi Pajero travelling north. The two cars behind the Pajero, a Subaru Impreza and a Ford Ranger, were unable to avoid the collision. The 56-year-old male driver of the Ford Falcon died instantly.... A 72-year-old man and 70-year-old woman, both from Mundingburra, in the Mitsubishi Pajero were declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the Subaru Impreza, a 33-year-old woman from Home Hill, was transported to Townsville University Hospital with a neck injury. The driver and passenger in the Ford Ranger, a 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman both from Heatley, were transported to Townsville University Hospital with minor injuries. The Bruce Highway was closed for several hours. Investigators are appealing for public assistance and asking anyone with further information or dash cam to contact police. Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

11.01.2022 Warwick | Police are investigating the death of a 54-year-old man in Warwick yesterday. Just before 6pm (September 16) police responded to reports of a disturbance on Hope Street. Upon arrival police located the Warwick man with a serious head wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.... A 29-year-old Warwick man was taken into custody and is assisting police with their inquiries. A crime scene has been declared and investigations are ongoing.

11.01.2022 Walkervale | Detectives have charged a man after a wounding incident in Walkervale yesterday afternoon. Around 4.30pm it will be alleged a man entered a dwelling on Barolin Street armed with a knife and attacked a 49-year-old man. He suffered a stab wound to the abdomen and was taken to the Bundaberg Hospital for treatment.... A 35-year-old man from Bundaberg West has been charged with enter dwelling with intent to commit an indictable offence, whilst armed and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm. He is due to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court today.

10.01.2022 Fortitude Valley | Police are investigating a wounding incident in Fortitude Valley this afternoon. Investigations indicate at 5.20pm, a woman has confronted a man exiting a bus on Brunswick Street and struck him with an object. As a result, the man suffered a non-life-threatening puncture wound to his upper chest and was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment.... The woman has left the scene and run in the direction of the Brunswick Street Mall, where she was later located by police off Bonney Lane around 6pm. The 44-year-old woman is assisting police with their enquiries. Investigations are continuing.

10.01.2022 Cairns | Officers from the Cairns Water Police have charged a 19-year-old Yarrabah man following investigations into a marine incident near Mission Bay on November 9. A full-scale rescue involving police, the Maritime Safety Authority rescue jet and QGAir rescue was commenced at 10pm after members of the Yarrabah community reported a dinghy with two males on board had failed to return as planned. It is alleged the man and a friend intended to go fishing near mangroves not fa...r from the community. The boat started to drift after he was unable to put the motor into gear. The man did not have an anchor on the boat to prevent it from drifting in the prevailing winds. Police and emergency services searched for the boat overnight, extending the search as far as waters near Palm Cove. At around 6.45am the following day, the dinghy was spotted by the rescue jet approximately 4kms east of Yorkeys Knob. The police vessel attended the location and took the two males on board. Their boat was towed back to Yarrabah. Officers from the Water Police last week charged the man with operating a ship whilst not appropriately licenced, failing to have safety equipment and operating an unregistered boat. He is scheduled to appear in the Yarrabah Magistrates Court on December 12. Officer in charge of the Cairns Water Police Sergeant Andrew Ibell, wishes to thank rescue services involved, members of the Yarrabah community who helped searched throughout the night and the Coast Guard and SES who were called in to assist with the morning search.

10.01.2022 Mango Hill | Homicide detectives have today arrested and charged a 59-year-old man for the murder of Gregory Thurlow in 1996. The Burpengary East man is in custody charged with one count of murder and is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today. His arrest follows a six-month investigation by Homicides Cold Case Investigation Team in conjunction with Brisbane Region and a renewed public appeal for information.... Gregory Thurlow was last seen in the late evening hours of October 1 1996 into the early morning hours of October 2 1996, leaving a Bray Park residence in a green 1980 VC Holden Commodore sedan. Investigations have revealed the vehicle with Gregory and a male associate believed to be the vehicle owner, stopped along Anzac Avenue on the night of his disappearance. Police will allege 27-year-old Gregory was killed at Scarborough, or elsewhere in Queensland, shortly after the vehicle was seen parked along Anzac Avenue, Mango Hill. As part of the investigation, witnesses were re-interviewed, forensic exhibits re-examined and a search completed of an area of interest near Mango Hill. Investigators confirmed new information was received after a billboard was placed on Anzac Avenue last month, along with targeted Facebook posts in the region encouraging people with information to come forward. We received valuable information from the public during our recent appeal that helped us advance this investigation. While todays arrest is significant, we are continuing to appeal to people who may have information about Gregs death and who may have been reluctant to come forward earlier to do so now, Detective Senior Sergeant Tara Kentwell of the Homicide Cold Case Investigation Team said. A $500,000 reward remains on offer for information that leads to the conviction of the person, or persons, found to be responsible for Gregorys murder. In addition to the reward, an appropriate indemnity from prosecution will be recommended for any accomplice, not being the person who actually committed the crime, who first gives such information.

10.01.2022 Pimpama | Over the past few months, there have been a number of complaints regarding hooning activities occurring on council land in Pimpama. These gatherings were frequent and attracting larger and larger crowds, participating in dangerous hooning activities. Officers from the Coomera Police Division, in consultation with Gold Coast City Council and local residents, have begun to put the brakes on these illegal and dangerous activities.... On Sunday, August 30, an operation was conducted utilising the Polair helicopter and a large number of individuals involved in the activities were located. Police were required to intervene when they observed people with children nearby reckless and dangerous hooning activity. As a result, all were moved on from the site with warnings given, and an un-roadworthy vehicle was left at the site as it was un-driveable. Three people were issued infringement notices for trespassing when they returned shortly after being warned not to do so. A 19-year-old Parkwood man was charged with driving whilst unlicenced, and is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on October 1. Police will continue to monitor the area closely and work with council to permanently deter further occurrences.

09.01.2022 Gold Coast | Police are seeking public assistance to locate a man who may be able to assist with their investigations into multiple offences throughout the Gold Coast. Gold Coast Detectives believe the 28-year-old Arundel man can help with their enquiries into numerous home and business break-ins, unlawful use of motor vehicle, fraud, stealing and drug offences in suburbs including Burleigh, Broadbeach Waters, Bundall, Helensvale, Varsity Lakes, Southport and more. The offenc...es have taken place over the past couple of months. Just before 6am on September 6, two offenders forced entry to a business on Karp Court, Bundall, before stealing a small amount of cash. They left in an Audi four-wheel-drive that was reported stolen during a burglary in Kedron the previous morning (September 5). Police located the car abandoned on the Pacific Motorway on September 9. In another incident, just after midnight on September 7, a man was captured on CCTV forcing entry to a service station on Millennium Circuit in Helensvale. The offender stole a quantity of cigarettes and other goods before leaving the scene in a car believed to be the stolen Audi. Investigations indicate the man is still actively committing offences across the Gold Coast and police are urging anyone who may have information into his whereabouts to contact them immediately.

09.01.2022 Zillmere | Police are investigating the death of a man following an incident in Zillmere tonight. At 5.30pm (September 13) police responded to a physical disturbance between two groups of people at OCallaghan park. Upon arrival police located a number of people who had sustained wounds.... A man aged approximately 20-years-old, died at the scene while 10 others are being treated in hospital for various injuries. A crime scene has been declared and investigations are ongoing.

08.01.2022 Emerald | A 48-year-old man has died after the car he was travelling in crashed into a tree at Emerald early this morning. Sometime before 3am, investigations suggest the man’s Toyota 86 coupe failed to negotiate a bend on Amethyst Road and crashed into a tree. The Emerald man died at the scene.... Investigations into the crash are continuing.

08.01.2022 Strathpine | Petrie detectives investigating an early morning fire at Strathpine are appealing for witnesses or motorists with dash cam footage to come forward. Between 1.25 and 2.15am Tuesday morning, September 15 a fire damaged a building at 167 Gympie Road which housed a gym and storage shed. Preliminary information indicates the fire was deliberately lit using an accelerant.... Police have released CCTV footage of two people approaching the building at the time. Anyone with information or vision which could assist with this investigation is asked to contact police (details below).

07.01.2022 Mount Gravatt | Police are seeking assistance to identify a man involved in an armed robbery at Mount Gravatt earlier this month. The man is first noticed loitering around the business around 1.30pm before walking across Creek Road, behind a shopping plaza. Around 5pm on Thursday, September 3, a man entered a jewellery store on Creek Road and threatened staff with a gun.... He has then produced a knife to further threaten staff before they were able to escort him out of the store a short time later. He then left the area, crossing Creek Road and walking towards the shopping plaza. The man (pictured below) is of a solid build and average height wearing a grey tracksuit. He was also wearing a black baseball cap, light blue face mask and black motocross-styled gloves. Anyone with information that could identify the man pictured is asked to contact police.

06.01.2022 Narangba | A motorcyclist who sustained serious head injuries in a traffic crash in Narangba last month has passed away from his injuries. Investigations indicate that around 9.40am on Sunday, August 30, a Honda CBR900 motorcycle travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway has attempted to pass through the intersection of the Boundary Road overpass when it has travelled through a red light and collided with a black Honda wagon. Emergency services provided first aid to the driv...er and he was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition. The 50-year-old man, who was driving the motorcycle, died of his injuries today. The matter remains under police investigation.

06.01.2022 Peeramon | A 19-year-old Rural View woman will appear in the Mareeba Magistrates Court later today charged with evade police, driving without a licence and drug charges after an attempted traffic intercept in Malanda on Thursday afternoon (September 17). It will be alleged the woman was travelling along Lake Barrine Road at about 3.45pm when police attempted to intercept the vehicle due to the manner of driving, but the driver refused to stop. Police located the woman and veh...icle at a property on Park Avenue. Malanda, where it will further be alleged the woman was located with drug utensils and a knife in her bag. Computer checks later revealed that the woman was unlicensed and wanted on a fail to appear warrant.

05.01.2022 Brisbane City | Have you seen this 12-year-old boy? He’s been missing since November 26 when he was last seen in Brighton at around 5.40pm. The boy is known to use public transport and frequent the Brisbane City and CBD areas, as well as various locations within Brisbane, Logan and Ipswich. Concerns are held for his safety and wellbeing.... He was last seen wearing a white la cross cap, black fila t-shirt, grey shorts and a greyish scarf (as per attached image). The boy is described as Aboriginal, 172cm tall with a solid build, short black hair and brown eyes. 05.01.2022 Gold Coast | Detectives executed a search warrant at a Nerang property last night as a result of investigations into alleged threats made against the Queensland Premier and the Chief Health Officer. A 43-year-old Nerang man will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on October 7 charged with one count of Using a Carriage Service to Make a Threat to Kill.

04.01.2022 Bundall | Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspicious fire in Bundall early this morning. Around 4.30am emergency services were called to the Upton Street business and arrived to find the structure well engulfed, with the flames causing the front of the building to collapse. The business was closed at the time of the fire and no one was injured.... A crime scene has been established. Anyone with vision or further information which could assist the investigation is urged to contact police.

04.01.2022 Lockhart River | Policing in remote communities can be tough, however the team at Lockhart River have a great mix of work and play to build strong relationships with their community. This week, local police joined the school for their Rainbow Day as a reward for students with a high and improved attendance record. As part of the local police Adopt-a-Cop program, the team at Lockhart River provides a weekly Junior Police Award prize to a student which consists of a little ba...g of goodies. They get to wear a junior police shirt and hat and turn on the lights and sirens in the police car. Senior Constable Roberts said that Rainbow Day provided a chance to celebrate all of the children in the program. Rainbow Day gave us an opportunity to celebrate our junior officers achievements and select three major prizes with the help from their teachers, Senior Constable Roberts said. Our police social club purchased a bike, scooter and a green machine along with helmets for our junior officers to encourage good behaviour for the duration of the term. Congratulations to all involved with this great program and well done to our Junior Police Officers!

02.01.2022 Update | Police have charged three males following an armed robbery in Upper Mount Gravatt on September 12. Around midnight on Saturday, police will allege three males wearing balaclavas entered a sports club on Klumpp Road and Logan Road, one was armed with a rifle. They allegedly threatened a female employee and stole a large sum of cash.... They fled in a black Holden Astra which was monitored by police until the vehicle was intercepted using a tyre deflation device on Main Street, Narangba. They abandoned the vehicle and were all arrested a short time later. Two males aged 16 and 17 have been charged with armed robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon. An 18-year-old man from Teneriffe has been charged with armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. 02.01.2022 Logan | A $500,000 reward has been announced to help crack Australia’s only unsolved police shooting investigation following the attempted murder of a police officer in Logan 21 years ago. Around 8.25am on 24 March 1999, two male offenders forced entry to a bank in Browns Plains and detained those present at gunpoint. Two police officers attended and moments after arriving at the scene, one of the officers was in the process of raising his hands when he was shot by an offende...r. The projectile entered through his groin and exited via his buttocks. He immediately fell to the ground and an offender stole the officer’s firearm. This coincided with the other officer positioning himself at the rear of the premises. At that time, the offender/s discharged their firearm/s twice and the projectiles exited through the rear window narrowly missing this officer, who was sprayed with glass particles. The offenders then fled on foot, taking two staff members as hostages. On reaching Browns Plains Road, the offenders stole a vehicle at gunpoint. The vehicle was later abandoned at Park Ridge. At the time of the incident the offenders were wearing off-white plastic masks, surgical style gloves and were seen to be carrying two-way radios. The officer who was shot later underwent emergency surgery, where it was determined the projectile had missed major arteries by millimetres. The stolen police firearm, a Sturm Ruger .357 six-shot revolver is yet to be recovered (a replica image is pictured). An initial reward of $100,000 was increased to $250,000 in 2004, however, with the case still open, the reward amount has been boosted to $500,000 from today. Assistant Commissioner Michael Condon said it was hoped the increased reward and passage of time would finally lead to an arrest in the case. There are now 500,000 reasons for someone to come forward, Assistant Commissioner Condon said. On the day, the police officers were just doing their job, responding to a very serious incident trying to keep the community safe. The community expects these cowardly acts to be fully investigated and these offenders brought to justice no matter how long it takes. Police will never give up and we have new information that is very promising. We urge anyone who may have any information in relation to this matter to come forward and contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. 02.01.2022 Moreton Bay | Detectives from Moreton District Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a man in relation to alleged historical child sex offences. The alleged offences occurred between 1993 and 1997 within the Moreton Bay area. Following a protracted investigation by detectives a 48-year-old Brisbane man was charged on November 25 with three counts of indecent treatment of child under 16, one count of rape and one count of unlawful intercourse child under 12.... The man is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 14. Police will allege the man worked in the educational sector for several decades and worked across Queensland. Detectives are appealing for anyone with any information in relation to this on-going investigation to contact police

01.01.2022 Cairns | A 15-year-old Bentley Park boy was arrested and charged yesterday morning following ongoing investigations into several incidents including the alleged robbery of another teen at Parramatta Park earlier this month. Police will allege that on the afternoon of September 5, two 15-year-old boys were fishing at Smiths Creek at around 2.30pm when they were approached by three youths who made threats toward them. The youths were not known to the two boys. One of the boys w...as forced to hand over his phone before being directed to accompany the youths to a nearby fuel station and withdraw money from an ATM. The boy complied with the demands and the trio then fled with his phone and money. He was not assaulted or physically injured as a result of the ordeal. Cairns Property Crime Squad officers located a 15-year-old boy on Keeble Street at Mooroobool at around 1.40am on Sunday and he was taken into custody. He was subsequently charged with two counts of robbery whilst in company, and five counts of stealing. The stealing charges relate to the alleged theft of a bicycle from Manunda on August 26, another from outside a Westcourt sports club on September 5, two bicycles from Cairns City on September 10, and the theft of an elderly womans purse at Earlville on September 12. The boy is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Childrens Court.

01.01.2022 Shailer Park | Police have arrested a man following the alleged unlawful use of a motor vehicle and discharging a firearm in Shailer Park overnight. Around 9pm, police attempted to intercept a stolen vehicle in the Beenleigh area. The driver failed to stop. A short time later, police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device, but the driver sped away.... On Plantain Road, Shailer Park while driving towards police, the driver allegedly shot at police. Minutes later, the vehicle was located abandoned on Thistlerow Street. Police located the man on the roof of a house, and he was taken into custody. He is expected to face a number of charges.
