04.01.2022 Since the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Amendment (Data Retention) Bill 2014 received Royal Assent on 13th April 2015 and became law, the Australian telecommunications industry has been scrambling to understand the technical and commercial implications of this bill, including how to capture and store relevant metadata in compliance with the legislation and the Australian Privacy Act for the prescribed minimum two year period.
