25.01.2022 Spontaneity is the spice of life they say, and here at Hardkits we love being spontaneous and spices !!!!! So when we noticed the Sunraiser Safari Rally held in Mildura Victoria, that entries had closed on the 14th of August we rang on the 17th and asked for a late entry. Once accepted and entries paid we had one weekend to build two race bikes and one weekend to pack.... Let the fun begin!!!! Please like and share, we are having a big plug and want to get as many people as possible to see these awesome bikes. Thanks Winna

21.01.2022 Well done Lee Palmer, Cross Roads Grafton and Darren Wilson, HARD kits - Home of the KTM 700RR for riding the Rally Management Australia Sunraysia Safari Rally 2017 for Team HARD Kits/CrossRoads. Lee gave the front riders something to worry about with an awesome 5th place finish, and Darren achieved his goal of getting (Doug's) bike and man to the end of day 4 in one piece with his 17th place finish. Looked like a great event to be part of. Lucky buggers......

20.01.2022 We pulled off the Gold Coast Queensland at 8.00am for the 1900klm road trip to Mildura, three guys wedged into a Landcruiser ute for two days isn't what you'd c...all comfortable, but that's racing. Dubbo was our first night stop and we woke to zero degrees in the morning for our final leg to Mildura. We arrived at sunset and set up the camp and base for the next week. We also spoke to event organiser Troy Bennett who told us the basic course. 4 days, total distance 2400ks, with 1200ks of special stages (timed stages) and day 3 was set to sort the men from the boys at 850ks and 4 specials stages. Uuuuuuummmmmmm, I'm thinking I'm gonna have a sore arse. Wahoooo, this is gonna be awesome. See more

20.01.2022 Righto, we are up and ready for day two, must be a little excited we are both an hour early and everything's done. Yesty Lee had a cracker of a day and finished... 5th outright on the Husqvarna and I finished the day in one piece and that's good enough for me. Both bikes ran like clocks and held up well to the race conditions thrown at them, the first half of the day was mud mud and some more mud, and it stuck to everything, the second half of the day things had dried out and the open farm tracks were a blast to ride and navigate. I rode the last two stages with Trevor Wilson swapping back and forth, good fun. See more

20.01.2022 The Rally clips from day 2 feature some motorcycle commentary toward the end, with Lee Palmer, Cross Roads Grafton on his 710RR HARD kitted Husqvarna right up there at number 2.

19.01.2022 Ok, so you've got the general idea, we needed to take a dedicated 'Adventure' bike, because that's what we do at Hardkits, is build the best adventure bikes in the world, and turn it into a race bike. Now normally this would be a pretty big under taking, but when you have 8 times Dakar mechanic and legend Darren Wilson..........hehehehe, nah not me, but Lee Palmer from Cross Roads Grafton and his wife Claudia Palmer and 10 times Dakar team manager in your corner, stuff happen...s and is done right first time. Lee knows how to build a Rally bike needless to say. So we took off the non essential adventure racks and gps and stuff and fitted a couple of ICOs and a map reader, new tyres and mousse, which Claudia got out of the Michelin factory in France delivered to us in under a week!!!! Mitas tyres have jumped on board with enough pairs of E12 rear and C23 fronts. New linkages were fitted to both bikes as well. Boy this weeks gonna be fun!!!! Once again, please like and share. 07.01.2022 Monday is done and dusted. When you're racing there's no time for stuffing around. So we went to bed last night when the bourbon ran out and dragged out arses o...utta bed at 8.30am. Fitted up new tyres and mousse and did some other little bits and pieces before heading to town to buy more alcohol for tonight and then went for a quick shake down run this afternoon. A lot of the teams and competitors are rolling in late this afternoon. Just like old times, all the old legends are turning up. See more
