09.01.2022 Good afternoon Colour City Medical Practice community, We know that there is a lot of concern regarding Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and we are here to help. If you have flu like symptoms or are unwell and have not been in contact with any people at risk of being infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) please call and talk to reception, let them know what your symptoms are and make an appointment.... The most recent guidelines from NSW Health is as follows: * If you have been in close contact with someone who has been confirmed to have the infection COVID-19 please isolate yourself at home until 14 days after you were last exposed to the infectious person. You should not leave the house, except for seeking medical care. you should stay a different room to other people as much as possible, and wear a surgical mask when you are in the same room as another person when seeking medical care at a hospital. Use a separate bathroom if available. Do not go to work, school, or public areas, and do not use public transport, taxi services or rideshares. Watch for signs and symptoms: * fever * cough * shortness of breath * other early symptoms to watch for are chills, body aches, sore throat, headache and runny nose, muscle pain or diarrhoea. If you develop symptoms; * If you are seriously unwell and it is an emergency, call 000 immediately. * Continue to keep yourself apart from other people as much as possible (eg in a different room) * wear a surgical mask if you have one. * call your public health unit on 1300 066 055, they will assess you and advise on what to do next. * if you can't contact the public health unit, see a doctor, preferably at a hospital emergency department (Orange Health Service) 6369 3156, as soon as possible PLEASE CALL FIRST! so that they can make arrangements for you when you arrive to prevent spread of infection to others. 06.01.2022 Colour City Medical Practice would like to welcome a new GP Dr Steven Peterson to the CCMP team. He will be available on Thursdays for Telehealth appointments. Here is some info about him : Steve Peterson studied medicine at the Australian National University and ended up in Orange after working in the Northern Territory, Far North Queensland, the Kimberley and Newcastle. He is a fellowed GP and also worked regularly at the Orange hospital emergency department. However he was hit by a car whilst riding his bicycle to work in 2018 and became quadriplegic amongst other injuries. He returned to work 18 months ago and now works in telehealth and educational roles. He lives with his wife and two young children on a cattle farm close to Orange.
