Monday 17th 11am meet at Nature play area. - litter pick up throughout the village, also spreading of mulch and planting a few new plants in Nature play area, weeding if needed too. ... Saturday 22nd 11am meet at Surf club. - litter pick up around beach and walk ways. . Please bring your own gloves and a plastic bag to collect rubbish. . Remember to adhere by the COVID rules: sign in when you arrive, stay 1.5metres apart, dont come if you are unwell, and remember good hand hygiene. . As the saying goes; Many hands make light work! This afternoon we planted a lot of new plants, place some small rocks and spread ( with wheelbarrows and shovels) FOUR big truckloads of mulch!! . As you may know, one of their own team members has recently been diagnosed with this terrible illness.... . Michelle, has always had a friendly smile to greet children and parents as they walk into the school each morning. Right from the beginning of the school opening a few years ago, she has welcomed and supported new families into our community with open arms. . Its now our turn to support Michelle and her family. . As I sit outside in the fresh air and sip my Pink Gin from Fireside Beer & Wine House and munch on my chicken burger from Shearwater Fish and Chips and Takeaway, I think about how lucky we all are to live in this wonderful community. . I sit and people watch, as I see family groups use the shipwreck decks and tables & chairs as they eat their fish n chips.... . I see friends catching up for coffee and soaking up the sun on the deck outside muse.shearwater. . I see many kids on their bikes, scooters and skateboards heading the the skate park. . I see Mums and Dads pushing prams around the street and across the board walk. . I see kids hanging out in the Nature park sitting on the wave seat, laughing and having fun. . It might be cold, but dont let that stop you from venturing out and spending some time in the village.
