25.01.2022 Mildura City Heart is hopeful it can still host its largest annual event, the Easter Show and Shine, in 2021. Last year’s Show and Shine was among the first maj...or events in the region cancelled due to the pandemic. Mildura City Heart manager Danielle Hobbs said the Show and Shine required months and months of planning even in a normal year, with Victorian Department of Health approval among the extra layer of paperwork required this time. If we were to get the Show and Shine across the line to do this year, there is going to be significant change in what we can do, Ms Hobbs said. It will be more of a traditional Show and Shine; it will be all of the shiny vehicles and the people standing around admiring them. Ms Hobbs said City Heart would be required to fence the entire area to control the numbers of people entering and leaving. We have never been able to really assess who and how any people come to the Show and Shine, so I am trying to look at it in a positive and say this is a great opportunity to understand our event better and understand what kind of tourism pull this thing has, she said.
