20.01.2022 Rock on Gorokan

20.01.2022 Hi all B'tutta Fans, I have noticed a lot of people asking for ideas for their students to help with learning online or at home. As you may be aware B'tutta has been performing game pieces for many years in schools especially through Musica Viva In Schools. Please see below a Game I developed which is heaps of fun for musicians of all ages and abilities. It creates new pieces of music just using a Dice and can be played by one or many musicians. 18.01.2022 Hi B'tutta Friends, Free resources for online music students. Some years back I collaborated on a project called Zoromak with Educators and Artists to create resources for teachers to use in the classroom.... The resources included a Booklet, Artist CD and a companion CD. I have used many of these resources myself in my work as an Artist in Residence with Musica Viva In Schools and the NSW Department of Education. Many teachers have purchased the resources when they were delivered in Hard Copy In response to what is going on at the moment though I have worked on how to deliver the package so you and your students might use it online for free. The first package is based on the music of Ashley Turner. Leading Australian Bass Player and Composer / Recording Artist. https://www.ashturnermusic.com/ In Particular this package deals with his CD Beautiful Open Spaces Who this package is designed for!! All of the material contained in this package is intended to enhance an appreciation of musical styles and concepts through listening, performing, moving, composing and improvising. The lesson plans and exercises in this package are suitable for students within the range of 12 to 18 years of age. Regular music educators for this age group should find the material easy to understand. The musical concepts covered include pitch / melody / harmony, duration / rhythm / meter, dynamics, tone colour / instrumentation / orchestration / texture, structure / form and composition / improvisation. Students explore these concepts through performance, movement, improvising, discussion, creating, notating, experimentation, observing and analysis. Teachers will find listening exercises and ready to use worksheets with answers. There are movement exercises and ensemble pieces. There are recorded loops that can be given to students to work on individually and arranging and composition exercises with easy to follow instructions. A guide has been given at the beginning of each chapter as to whom each exercise is aimed at. There are three categories, 1. All levels. 2. Less experienced. 3. Experienced. 06.01.2022 Hi B'tutta Friends, In these days of Lockdown it is hard for an ensemble to find a place to play however our friends at Queenwood School found a way. We thank them for the opportunity to perform and record online resources they are developing for their students relating to percussion instruments / music and Australian compositions. Please be in touch if something like this interests you or your students.
