02.01.2022 Pre-COVID19 - for almost 5 years, this is who we were. . Lots have happened in the past 5 years - and no.84 wouldnt be where its at without the support and love from all our customers - customers who have also become our friends, allowing us to be part of your lives, from being engaged, married, starting a family, and watching your kids grow and blossom - and it feels very rewarding - part of the reason why I love my job so much. . Am I a pastry chef? I get asked a lot - no..., Im not a qualified chef, or baker - I have a degree in design and architecture, a background in marketing and event management - I am just a home-baker and its the nature of the journey that have enabled me to consistently challenge me to push my skill set further. Never in my life would I imagine myself designing and creating extravagant wedding cakes, and other occasion cakes such as milestone birthdays, baby showers, etc. And I have enjoyed creating every single cake, re-inventing new recipes to keep your tastebuds tingling, cafe hopping to see whats trending, etc. . I started no.84 with two babies under two years of age, gone through a very rough patch in my marriage, currently embracing single-motherhood, whilst still trying to find the balance between home and work life , amazing staff come and go for many reasons, saying goodbyes to many customers over the years as they embark on their new journey away from Albert Park, meeting new faces - lots of joys shared, tears cried, hugs and memories... . 01.01.2022 Five and a half years ago, after many months of searching for the perfect location to embark on the next chapter of my life, no.84 was born. . Many have asked why I chose this spot because it was a very risky move to start a cafe away from the Albert Park Village. Ive always said - its the fact that it is out of the village, situated on the Paris end of Bridport Street - a property that ticks all my boxes - wide footpath, double storey, and a courtyard, with a full window f...acade overlooking a church. . Countless hours, sweat, tears and funds have been poured into the birth of no.84 - putting my architectural design knowledge to use, hunting for the right suppliers and tradies, emails back and forth to the council to make sure that we have ticked all their boxes... . no.84 first open its door on 19 June 2015 - it was a Friday - and I can still remember our first day, almost 5 years ago like it was only yesterday.
