24.01.2022 Many thanks for all the support the Haven has received with food financial and voluntary work over the last few months. Last week were able to supply 1000 meals in takeaway form thru our door plus fresh food vegs and fruit to help people families who are struggling at this time. 23.01.2022 The Haven are collecting re-fillable Soup Mugs for people in need - free refills will be available at The Haven. Coles East Vic Park are kindly supporting the effort by arranging a drop off point and plenty of stock on the shelf. There is a display by the fridges at the back of the store, more stock on the shelf (aisle 9) and collection bins at the front. Please see photos. Aiming to collect over 400! 22.01.2022 This week is Homelessness Week The Haven is providing Soup Mugs to all attending the Haven, also promoting a new service of Fresh Food Hampers from 1pm to 4pm Tuesday to Friday, so come down and get fresh fruit, vegetables, bread, pasta, rice and bread. Come to the Red Door and ask for Joan, please remember to bring your Health Care Card. 13.01.2022 To the people in Victoria Park and Perth, we at the Haven Centre are supporting those less fortunate than ourselves in the Local Area and beyond this are providing FREE meals; 3 times a day Tuesday to Saturday Breakfast is 8am - 9.30am, Lunch 11.30am - 1pm, Pie and Soup Kitchen 4.00pm - 5.30pm. We receive NO FINANCIAL support from the Town of Victoria Park Council and are Non-Government funded. We also provide personal care products, blankets Jackets Sleeping Bags, Showe...r Facilities, Laundry Service and Full Medical Service each week. We are a registered Charity and we are looking for sponsors to expand our services. We welcome people from all walks of life and if you are interested in helping in any way, please come in and visit our centre and we are happy to show you around. 04.01.2022 To Whom It May Concern: My name is Joan Sutherland and I run The Haven in Victoria Park, at The Haven, we support those within our community who are in need. We do this by providing meals, mobile showers, laundry services, a visiting doctor, referrals, handing out food hampers and a place to go to sit and chat.... I note that the Towns Local Government Elections are coming up and I would like to share my support for Deputy Mayor Vicki Potter for Mayor. Vicki has visited The Haven and even organised a fundraiser through her childrens dancing and donated the funds to us from this. She has acted as a referral, sending community members here to give donations or offer support. The Town of Victoria Park needs a Mayor who is caring, compassionate and demonstrates sound leadership skills, I believe Vicki has all of these skills and more. I wish Vicki Potter the best of luck and look forward to working with her in the future. Joan.
