On November 26, 1998, twenty-two years ago, he was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Sofron Mudry in the Cathedral of St. George in Lviv. Subsequently he was appointed apostolic exarch of France by Pope Francis and was consecrated bishop on August 21, 2012 with His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk as principal consecrator and Archbishop Ihor Vozniak of Lviv and Bishop Hlib Lonchyna, Apostolic Exarch of Great Britain as co-consecrators. He was appointed Metropolitan-Archbishop of Philadelphia by Pope Francis on February 18, 2019 and installed June 4, 2019 during a hierarchical Divine Liturgy in the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Philadelphia.
